Knows quite a bit about his topic. Good in class discussion, encourages attendance and debate. Agreed, is hot, but taken. Worth checking out his class, if you like participating.

Comment:
Clarke was a bit of a jerk. Essentially his lectures are boring and pointless, he answers students questions with 10-15 minute tangents, he is unhelpful and uncaring in extenuating circumstances, and he takes criticism in class poorly (lashing out at me personally on more than one occasion). So far worst lecturer in SFU's Political Science dept.

I've had a few classes with Greg over the years. He's a very average prof, with strong pros and cons. He really promotes in-class debate and tries to stimulate discussion. But he is also very boring and monotone and tends to be rather close-minded. I think he feels he's too good for his job, in some ways.

Zomg, when I first met him I thought he would be a fun and outgoing guy, boy, I was dead wrong. This guy is the biggest bookworm. He seems to spend way too much time in the library and not in the real world. He knows his stuff but gawd does he make it boring. Lectures are only of the most minimal value. He is not that helpful when u go and see him.

He's obviously intelligent, although his intellectual capacity is not usally demonstrated at a particularly high level in class lectures. He takes a very long time to get to obvious conclusions, though this may be for some pedagogical reason unknown to me. I find him strange, and a little awkward, I prefer to approach him in email vs.in person.

Great guy! Has a laid-back style that is welcomed. Lectures are not the most well-organised but insights are all there and he eventually gets thing across clearly. Does well at facilitating debate; not afraid to discuss things outside of class content which is great; I like the personal anecdotes...Resembles Christian Bale to a certain extent...

Greg is a total fox. He's a snappy dresser, he doesn't care who comes to his lectures or leaves during them because he's so laidback. It's really too bad he's not younger...if it weren't for how cute he is, i probably would dose off in class. poli sci is a pretty boring subject. At least he likes it.

I really do enjoy his class. I find his insights to be interesting, he facilitates interesting discussions, and the readings he assigns are informative and insightful. Being a Poli Sci major, I've had my fill of AWFUL profs, I must say that this man is a nice change of pace!

Comment:
Dr. Greg Clarke, after he defended his Phd thesis, appeared somewhat friendly, but had a lot of difficulty engaging the class. I think I almost feel asleep once! The TA(Paul Weaver) was quite a difficult marker; I believe the average mark after the final exam would be a B- or a c+. Big disappointment

Greg Clarke provides no marks until student views final grade on internet. He is arrogant, condescending and views students as competition, rather than contribution. Not a course for high order thinkers. Stuck on the small stuff. A discouraging and limited learning experience. Not recommended.

Worst prof I've had so far. Not only boring and uninteresting but petty and rude when shown up by his TA's. Waited until a few weeks before the final to tell us that all the anecdotes that he had been sharing (and nobody I know was writing down) were actually "case studies" and we were goin to be tested on them. Thanks for the heads up dude.

He was a decent professor but wasn't clear at structuring exactly what was testable. The TA (curry) was the hardest marker ive ever come across. Even if you got the basics of the answer right. (text book answer) you still only got a 1.5 or 2 out of 5 (50% - 66%) talk about an easy way to bring doen a average. marking scheme was crappy.

Greg Clarke is condesending and arrogant. He is unable to engage in intellectual discourse and puts people down rather that debating with them. If someone has an opinion he does not agree with he will attack the person and not the idea. He knows alot of 'facts', but is that enough to be a professor?

Great class, great prof. However I do agree the text was a bit dry but he didn't write it someone else did and it did relate very well to the material we covered.

Clarke is a good prof. The class was a good class. The text was not good. Keep these things separate! If you read the supporting articles and thought about them you'd find neither the prof nor the class boring. For the 1st year "know it alls" just wait until you get a truly boring prof. Clarke isn't

Nice guy but soooo boring! He is such an attractive person and he LOOKS like he should be interesting! The text is AWFUL though and the lectures are unbearble! Usually heated topics like same sex marriage are made boring! Also the T.A.'s marked WAY to hard! The class average was super low!
