Comment:
This class was fairly easy. He's not the best professor, but all of his exams and quizzes are open note and open book. For most of the classes I couldn't even pay attention because his voice is so monotone. That being said, if you can get yourself to pay attention you would probably do well in this class.

This is the worst professor I have ever encountered. Not only does he fail to give clear guidelines related to assignments, but he also fails to actuallly teach the subject of microeconomics. In addition, he was incredibly disrespectful to his students and refused to give them feedback on incorrect answers, simply responding "read the book."

The professor outlines the same basic material covered in most intro econ classes, then tries to apply it to some abstract idea, but doesn't generally end up tying it together well. He's incredibly unprepared, often showing up late or spending the first 10 minutes setting up. Don't expect to learn much unless you teach yourself.

Struggles to explain basic concepts that should already by understood from prerequisites. Is very unorganized with class and spends most of his time mumbling incoherently. Took until week 3 to actually discuss economics, previously had spent a week what Trump data to believe. There are few assignment but if you value your education, DO NOT TAKE!

Still trying to figure out what he was trying to teach in the class- very disorganized, narrow-minded (his opinion is always the "right" opinion). Lots of papers on books you have to read (don't bother reading them trust me). Does count attendance. Half the time it feels like he's just talking to himself. Nonsense. Midterm/final was easy/a joke.

I had Lilly for Global and honestly it was the worst class of my life. He assigns papers that are supposed to be opinionated, however grades you poorly when you don't argue what he wants you to argue. The only thing we talked about in this class was racism. Every. Single. Day. If you can avoid him, do it.

Lilly doesn't have any idea how to teach. All he does is recite directly off PowerPoints and the textbook. Monotone voice and doesn't make the material interesting whatsoever. My class is silent 99% of the time because so many people zone out. Only redeeming aspect is his tests are open note/book. Would not recommend.

Despite all exams being open note, Gregory Lily simply does not know how to teach. We learn everything from the text book and the powerpoint slides that he puts up are helpful but overall he has no idea how to teach in a way that his students can easily perceive the material. He expects you to know a lot more than you should for a principle class.

He knows what he is talking about but does not explain the material very well. He basically teaches right from the textbook, so do the reading and you will be fine. All exams are open book.

had him for global, it definitely wasn't my favorite class but its not bad if you have him. he assigned 3 papers on books you dont really have to read. fairly easy grader as long as you make your arguments clear. he's a nice guy overall!

He is really nice and very reasonable when it comes to assignments. I feel like I didn't really understand anything, but I got through the class as someone who absolutely hates all math.

Comment:
By far my least favorite class and professor. It's not difficult to get a good grade, but to get an A, you basically have to sell your soul and agree with his opinions in your papers. He assigns argumentative papers, but tells you what your opinion should be. Very close-minded so it was difficult to listen to him lecture every class. Terrible time.

Great guy, however he is probably the worst teacher I have had thus far at Elon. Impossible to pay attention to during class, very unorganized and his tests have nothing to do with anything in the book. All tests are open book however the questions are completely random and very hard to understand. I really regret taking his class.

Somewhat boring but I actually got a good amount out of the class. The workload is manageable and I learned quite a bit. He is also an economics professor so that element made things more interesting. Don't be thrown off by people who thought he was too boring

Dr. Lilly is one of the reasons I'm an International Econ major. Great, passionate professor and all around good guy and advisor. I've taken two of his econ courses and he is a concise communicator. If you follow his guidelines and put in honest work, you should definitely get an A.

He is an extremely dull person in the classroom and while in class people do not pay attention at all. He manages to talk about absolutely nothing for 100 minutes. If his class was not important for grading then I would have never shown up for class.

Professor Lilly leads a boring class and is a very difficult grader, some may say unfair. He does not give clarity as to what he expects and had unrealistic goals and expectations for a mainly freshman course
