I took Payne for Human Anatomy and it was a HUGE class so I can't really speak on his personal connections just because there is no way to learn everyones name much less have a one on one relationship. But his class was extremely easy and straightforward. He has really dry humor.. You have to go to class because of the hand-ins.

Comment:

Love Dr. Payne as a person. However, he is the most unorganized teacher I have ever had. He changes due dates often. He is unclear about what he expects you to know on lab exams. Class is pointless because the exams are take home. Grading is basically done in the lab exams.

I was really scared when I registered for A&P II and saw Payne was the only option left. People had warned of him and I thought I was for sure going to fail his class. Yes, he' goes more in depth than others, but he never talks about anything that's not in the textbook. I don't even take notes, just reading along in class has got me a good grade.

Prof. Payne knows the material so well he forgets that we do not know what he is talking about and tends to teach over our heads and uses examples that we do not understand. In this class you will have to study a ton, if you do everything you need to (attending class, studying quizzes and taking thorough notes during his lecture) you will do fine.

Supposedly in his previous lectures he gave revisions for your tests; well not anymore buddy! He is the worst professor ever to come across a university. You have quizzes almost everyday that you would think would reflect how the test would go but NOT EVEN CLOSE. The test are DIFFICULT. He doesn't answer questions. Honestly heneeds to be fired ASAP

DO NOT TAKE HIM FOR ANATOMY, I had him for lecture and it is the WORST class I have EVER taken in my entire life. The first test the entire class failed and he had to change the entire formula of the class. he lectures off powerpoints that even if you copy word for word wont pass, hes rude, I passed the lab with a 94 so I knew the stuff it was bad

One of the WORST professors I have ever had. Although he is a funny guy his lectures make absolutely no sense. You pretty much have to teach yourself the material. Quizzes weekly but he does not give them back to you so you cannot see your mistakes. Tests are EXTREMELY difficult. Very hard to focus on this professor.

Tests are very difficult in 52 minutes because of the detail. Must go to class daily because random quiz during lecture you cannot make up will account for 12% of final grade. Avoid if possible.

He is a GREAT professor! He will go above and beyond to make sure you understand the material and he will work with you to make sure you earn the best grade possible. He gives quizzes during class so I wouldn't miss class unless its absolutely necessary. His tests can be difficult but as long as you invest time in this course you will be fine.

Lectures are boring. However, he does give make-up exams after each test which can really boost your grade. His tests are pretty difficult, and he gives random quizes on a regular basis. If you study and go to class EVERYDAY, you can easily get a good grade in this class.

He is easy if you actually put effort into the class. Study for every test and go to class to take the quizzes. He allows you to retake tests and earn points on the test. I didn't put as much effort in the class though but I came out with an 86. Buy the book because it is very helpful.

He's a great teacher. Sometime when sitting out in the lobby he even comes up to you and asks about how the lecture was.(very helpful) It is a very difficult but rewarding class, get all you can out of it and you won't be disappointed. Study study study! And don't miss any classes, you need the quizzes.

Challenging class. Lets you have retakes on most of the test though, VERY helpful. Final is optional. Attendance is not mandatory but go because he gives random quizzes that are usually pretty easy but if you have a zero it can hurt you. Make sure you have a book! Puts powerpoints online but doesn't put much info on them use the book as a reference
