I found Professor Pierce to be an overall fair guy. He does get off topic at times, digressing from lecture material. However, he's very respectable for the time he put into the finance industry. Comes off old school & strict, but easy with grading. Homework is tedious, requiring proper time management. Repeat after me, "GO TO EXAM REVIEWS!!"

Final grade is 500 pts. total; 100 each in attendance (you get 2 excused absences), participation (in class+weekly excel hw), assignments (5 short things due at random times), midterm, and final. GO TO THE EXAM REVIEWS! he goes over every single thing you need to know. i got 100% on both exams. he also has videos explaining the hw qs. easy class!

Online he sounds intimidating because he says he takes 1 point off for every grammar/spelling mistake. He gives videos on how to solve all the homework problems. GO TO REVIEWS. I didn't do any studying other than go to his exam reviews and got a 105% on both exams. His exams are basically the same as his review. Nice guy and pretty funny.

Very energetic, made class bearable. Attendance & answering questions correctly on the WSJ in class every day are literally 40% of your grade. Most of the WSJ ques are about sports news, which felt super irrelevant to finance. One midterm, one final, and 3 easy assignments are the rest of your grade. Review sessions are key, & go over the PPTs!

The class is highly based on attendance and participation, but classroom environment is laid-back and engaging, making it easy to get these points. We discuss current events and sports from the Wall Street Journal everyday. Biggest advice: go to the review sessions before exams, they are incredibly helpful. Overall, very smart and pretty funny dude

Just because of its usefulness, it prepares you for business and ive heard that he actually makes students work on real businesses in the honours section. You have to love the guy. Eve if you dont like the guy, the class is easy, just stay on top of your concepts

The Fin Coach is really a great guy. His lectures take a LONG time to get going because he spends a lot of time talking about the WSJ. When he actually talks about the material he is very clear and efficient though. The class really isn't that bad and as long as you attend, pay attention, and can read a formula sheet you'll be fine.

He's THE MAN. I tutor Finance and Gray-Woolridge is easy for some and a noghtmare for others. Take Pierce and you won't be sorry. Big sports nut. The only downside to this course is spending money on business cards!

Pierce is actually insane and I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone. He rants about random things all class period and pretends to be relevant. You will learn more about Pierce's ego and little about finance. That said, if you can stand listening to him the class isn't hard, but if you want to learn something take Woolridge.

He's the man definitely the guy to take for 301 only downside is that you have to buy business cards for participation. $50 worth, but he's worth it big sports fan and 2 exams the first one with extra credit and a formula sheet. Got a 102 and didn't have to take the final.

GP3, or the Fin Coach as he likes to be called, Professor Pierce is a teacher you need to have. The grading scale is easy to follow and it's easy to do well. Conversely, he takes no BS. If you miss class or sit there without contributing your grade will reflect it, but show up to class and do the HW's and you'll Ace his Exams

Awesome class! GRP3 Is the man, he gives you plenty of opportunity to excel in his class. You must come to class and participate but it's all worth it because his instruction is something you will need in the real-world. He has you learn to use Excel for your math problems, but it's something you're going to need later when you get a job!

He is an outstanding professor! I highly recommend anyone, no matter what your major, take his class. He is very inspirational because he get you to think about your future and what you want to do after you graduate. He helps you with many things, more than just finance, such as preparing for interviews, job prospects, educational opportunities.

Definitely one of the best professors at PSU! He can be hilarious at times, but yet serious. He definitely is prepping you for the real world and not just finance, but also interviews, job prospects, money-saving tips and investments for long-term goals in your life. When you complete his course, you will have gotten your money's worth!

Greg is one my favorite professors at Penn State, if not the most! The class is filled with real world experiences that are very much essential to one's success as a business major. He is very clear and straight forward, and as long as you keep up with the work and go to class, you shouldn't have a problem.

Pierce was hot and cold. Some classes he was fun, but most were obnoxious. He's always behind and takes FOREVER to enter final grades. He's also a bit of an egotist.

GRP3 is the man. Class is mandatory if you want a good grade. The class is 40% exams (two exams), 20% participation, 20% attendance, and 20% 5 pretty easy assignments. Whether you're a business major or not take Greg Pierce. He will help you in the real world. The exams are easy if you pay attention in class and do the homework.

GRP3 is hit or miss. He is a cool guy and his lectures are straight forward, but don't expect any pity if you forget an assignment. He is tough and is trying to "prepare you for the real world" which he does. The class is pretty easy overall. I would recommend it. The only huge problem I have is that you need a 95 for an A, not a 93.

My favorite professor so far at Penn State. Class is not hard but you will learn a lot of important material. Everything you learn you will need in the real world. Very highly recommend taking a class with Mr. Pierce before you graduate.
