Comment:

He's a really sweet and interesting professor. A TON of reading and even though the essay questions only require analyzing two or three readings, he wants you to cram as many references to other readings as possible (If you don't do this you can't get an A). His grading criteria aren't super clear, so I wish I had figured this out sooner.

I just LOVE Greg White! He is by far the best professor I have had at Smith so far. Reading assignments are A LOT though. If you are a slow reader like me, you will have a hard time to learn how to balance your readings. He is great though. He gives you feedback on what you need to improve. His classes are full of discussions. He makes you think!

The only thing you really need to know about this class is using the text! White LOVES when you refer to the text- other than that, I think he is too full of himself. Tries very hard to act "cool"-- a decent professor overall. Also, don't expect an A, even if you mention everyone he wants you to, you'll still get a B+.

greg is the best prof ever. hes cute to look at, makes things interesting, kind of funny. he is also understanding and nice. he knows his stuff and wants you to know it too. he makes things easy to understand. taken a few of his classes and i recommend him

He's the man. Always upbeat, helpful and charismatic, he'll tell you when the material's gonna be dry, but manages to make it interesting anyway. Really clever and engaging with movie clips, i.e. Monty Python and The Holy Grail scenes to illustrate feudalism.

An excellent professor. He makes himself very accessible, offering astute and helpful guidance in a casual, approachable way. Plenty of room for creative, critical thought in his classes, which may be the reason for objections to some class discussions, but this makes the coursework exciting.
