You don't really learn in the lectures, definitely the type of class you could never go to, study the night before and get a decent grade. I still went to class but I found myself studying for tests like I didn't. I would've rather been in the other section. He's not a bad person though, just not an amazing lecturer.

Professor Hutchinson is knowledgable on AutoCAD, and is a lot of help outside of class. However, he sometimes doesn't answer emails and goes through material quickly while supplementing with anecdotes about uses of AutoCAD without having patience while teaching it. I'm a good student with a very high 3 GPA, but I found his class extremely difficult

He puts in little effort into teaching the class beyond reading the powerpoints. Some of the HW assignments he assigns are insanely long. This was the class I hated the most this semester.

Hutchinson is really passionate about AutoCAD. He is a qwerky guy that is very energertic. His passion makes him fly through the material very fast. He doesnt explain things well and assumes you are already a pro at CAD when thats what hes supposed to be teaching you. The tests are very tedious. You must know a bunch of small useless facts.

Hutchinson is funny with a passion for visualization; struggled with him because his exams had a lot of 'trivia' on them that was not useful to know or remember. The textbook was huge and really boring. The group project was fun and realistic to industry, so don't procrastinate over it. Go to his office and ask him questions because he'll help you.

Don't take him. We have 5 exams, and only the first two were graded, leaving the student in their misery and unable to measure their performance in class. All about talking but never realize what he said. Not recommend this instructor to any other.

DO THE MODULES AND THE PROJECTS WITH YOUR BEST EFFORT. Learning in class is minimal, but that's where you get your (sometimes multiple) daily grades, in the form of quizzes. A lot of the course emphasis is on the 2 tests and the projects over the course.

One test and a final. Quizzes every day. Doesn't really teach-- all of the lessons are on online modules that you're supposed to walk from homework and then you're quizzed over them the next day (our TAs went over a few questions first but that didn't always help). A LOT of group work.

Good teacher, although the TAs did a lot of the reviews for our modules. He tries to make teaching interesting and relates a lot of the material to his personal experiences as an engineer so you can see how its important
