He's kind of a weird guy. Hard to gauge. But he's great once you get used to him. He lets the class flow fairly freely and doesn't force people to talk who aren't willing. That being said, class was participation based, so talk! He won't insult or even correct your German and he doesn't care if you slip in an English word. His grading was fair.

He definitely thinks his way is the right way and the best way. It's nice to know he is a native German and a professional translator, so he's very qualified, but as far as teaching, he was just OK.

Nice guy, a bit distant, but willing to help, makes classes pretty open, and laid back which makes them interesting. Outside knowledge and thoughts on what classes want to cover seems welcome. Expected research outside the class. Knowledge used from all realms of academia which is unique.
