Professor Lalande is a great professor. He is genuinely interested in seeing his students pass, and he will try to do whatever he can to help - as long as you put in the work. Pay attention to his lectures and take good notes, because his lectures are the basis for all of the assignments. He's an incredibly fair marker and a great professor!

Great prof and a really nice guy. Would recommend his classes if you enjoy history. Going to class is important, finals can be tough but overall good professor that knows a lot about history.

Lalande is a nice guy, like a gem of a person but I cannot focus in his class. Very lecture heavy, and tough marker to boot. Ask the man about music though and you'll make his day.

Very lovable prof, he marks very fair and although you have to read and write a lot, it is all for the students learning. He was very clear on what he wanted, and i enjoyed the feature films every Sunday night!

Such a sweet old man. Soft spoken so maybe don't take him in the morning or you'll fall asleep. But, he knows a lot about the topics he's presenting, and doesn't ask for much class participation. He does't really put the things due on the syllabus and doesn't really know how to use technology, but he wants you to succeed. Be kind to him.

He's an adorable old man and I really like him as a person, but hot damn I really struggled in his class. He really drags on and is kind of boring, but he means well!

Kind man who genuinely cares about student comprehension. Did a fine job teaching a subject so broad. Lectures could sometimes get a tad bit long and monotonous on Monday mornings though. VERY fair marker who pays a lot of attention to grammar; make sure to spell check!

Prof Lalande is so sweet. He is such a nice, calm, peaceful man with a quiet, soft demeanor. His French accent can be funny at times and he unintentionally says and does things that are hilarious, but he is easily understood. He covers a lot during class and will never let a class go even a minute early. He is a very good professor and a very kind, helpful man. He sets up History Movie Fridays, and sometimes he brings treats - he baked us a cake once!

At first the Prof was hard to understand but you get used to his french accent. Exams are fair but often I asked myself why are we spending so much time learning about boats and other things. He is a great person but his teaching is some times repetitive.

Great professor :) you can tell he absolutely loves what he teaches and is really enthusiastic. All exam questions come from lecture, so if you do not go to class your screwed. Hard marker, he expects a lot of detail for essay-style questions but marks fair.

Awesome Prof! He is so passionate and if you can take notes and read them every mark you need for exams is on the board. I wasnt a good student this year and still managed a high mark on my christmas just because his lectures were so good!

After taking a few of Dr Lalande's classes I can say that he is amongst my favorite profs at X. His classes are informative, paying attention and taking good notes will make the text book unnecessary. He also provides good outlines for tests which while long, are fairly marked. And the movie nights are usually quite enjoyable.

Great prof! Its true that he is quite a hard marker, but he does a wonderful job of making history come alive. His mannerisms (chest pounding) and expression are fun as well.
