My favorite English professor ever! She made her lectures fun and enjoyable. No textbook was required but she uploaded a Practice Manual for further practice. My suggestion is DO THE MANUAL!! Also, don't skip class, once you skip more than 6 days she drops a letter grade for your overall grade.

Be ready to write! Even though the papers were difficult, she really tried to help. She is a really nice person and I enjoyed her class. Her class was not an easy A, but if you really try, it is possible!

I loved Dr. Martins structure class! She loves to put emphasis on everything which is pretty comical! You have 5 test including the final and thats it, but if you come to class ask questions and do the practice manual you should be fine. Its a very difficult class but its very doable if you try hard enough. Flexible with test dates also.

I took her sentence structure class which is required for English majors. She gives 5 tests with 4 questions on them. She gave extra credit once. Everything is cumulative so if you don't understand in the beginning of the semester, you won't understand it later on. She isn't helpful in the slightest when you ask questions. Do not take.

This class was much harder than I thought it would be. You learn a new topic every day and the next day it's like "oh, I know we learned this last class, but it gets more complicated." There's only 4 tests and the final, so make sure you study well for the tests. Professor Martin will happily pause class to help you understand a topic.

Overall this class was very easy. You're going to read a lot for this class, so be prepared. There's short stories, a huge project over picture and chapter books, and many novels to read. Professor Martin is awesome and passionate about English. She made the class enjoyable and interesting.

Fantastic, does lots of examples, very willing to explain and answer questions, really cares about whether or not you understand the material. Doesn't talk too fast and will wait for students to finish witting something down.

This class was very challenging for me. I would say that this is probably used as a weed out class for the English major. Both attendance and use of the practice manual are essential for passing the class. I would probably never take this class again and choose a different professor if possible, as it was probably harder than it needed to be.

Dr. Martin is great. She has found a way to make learning grammar more entertaining. There were only four tests that go hand in hand with the taught material. Her reviews are very productive and sometimes she pushed the test date a few days if she believed we were not getting it. No quizzes. Attendance really is everything.

You have to go to class because there is no textbook. The textbook is whatever notes you're taking in class so that's essential. She's really great at making sure you understand the material and makes it as fun as diagramming sentences can get.

Loved Dr. Martin's Children's Lit class! Read every time, there will be quizzes. Pay attention in class and take good notes, you'll need them to study for the test. She is pretty straight forward about her projects, gives you options to pick which one best suits your major's focus. Would for sure take her again if I could!

I really enjoyed Dr. Martin's classes. She is unapologetically fair and will recognize it if you work very hard to do well, even if you start off not so great. Daily quizzes are tough, but if you do the practice sentences you will be able to pass them. Tests are difficult, but exactly on par with the material. Go to class!

DO NOT TAKE!!! Dr. Martin at the beginning of the semester makes a point to seem easy breezy. A few quizzes, some reading NO big deal. But the tests are awful. The "reviews" are a joke. She will tell you what she expects and grades for something entirely different. She will tell you the object of the course and evaluate your final the opposite way.

The class isn't hard if you go and use the practice manual. Attendance isn't mandatory but she does give quizzes daily that are either pass or fail so they are very hard to pass. However, she did give us a chance to make up some quizzes toward the end of the semester. I was like 2 or 3 points from an A but she's not the type to help you out.

I don't understand why there are so many negative reviews for Dr. Martin. I currently have a high A in her class. She is very clear with her expectations and makes the learning fun. There are passfail quizzes and a total of four exams, including the final. If you go to class, do the practice manual exercises and ask questions, you'll be fine!

You think grammar wouldn't be hard right? Well, brace yourself. If you can take someone else, DO. She wasn't clear on the first exam and I failed it but couldn't drop the class because I needed it. I used the practice Manuel (which she provides) more than anything. The quizzes are PASS or FAIL! So, you'll fail most. I passes by the grace of god.

I took her for 3384, loved her.. 3351, not so much. For 3351 she changed all her test formats so I never quite knew what to study. She doesn't give second chances, you either know it or you don't. I didn't like her teaching methods at all for 3351.

Straight forward and stern but a good teacher. Had her for both 3384 and 3351. Study for the material and go to class; you'll make an A.
