Buck has easily become one of my least favorites. He did not facilitate the class smoothly, did not challenge my thinking, and allowed only a small selection of students to contribute opinions to discussions. His lectures were hard to follow and I didn't take away much from his class.

If you actually take time to read, you'll get an A. He's a predictable professor and the quizzes and exams are easy. He plays favorites but it won't do you any good to be one of them-he'll just call on you for everything. Loves to hear his own voice too.

Comment:

Dr. Buck really wants to get to know his students and I really enjoyed being able to meet up with him in McConn to grab coffee now and then; however, there is a lot that needs work on in this class. He was always at least five minutes late to class, extremely forgetful, and definitely played favorites. Worst grade I've ever gotten in English.

This class was a lot of fun. A journal over reading due almost every day, those are graded at the end of the semester, and as long as you complete them, he will give you full credit. A total of 6 papers and one big research paper. The midterm and final were easy. Get to know what he likes on papers, do it, and you will get an A.

Dr. Buck tramples over his students, only giving voice to comments he wants to hear. He emphatically picks favourites and calls on them in the middle of sentencing, making class discussion very confusing. He grades arbitrarily. He spends his class discussions on the most obvious points when there are many other elements to be gleaned from the text

Lousy prof. He might know his material but he is terrible with students. He is quite full of himself for no legitimate reason. His attitude made it NOT an enjoyable class at all. I still did well but he is not a good professor.

I found Buck to be a very impatient professor, especially when students don't agree with his point of view during discussions. He acts very childish when someone doesn't agree with him.He's very unorganized, keeps you passed the time to leave. I didn't like poetry before, now I really don't like it.

Prof Buck is easily one of my favorite professors. He really cares about his students. This particular class was interesting even though I didn't really want to take it. His test were easy because he told us what to expect. The work load was manageable, and his grading was decent. he grades based on what skill and awards improvement. Loved him.

Buck isn't pompous, he's insecure. He wants the class to agree with him. He is easily distracted by moral debates, rather than actual critical analysis. He really cares about his students, but the conversation gets sidetracked easily when they come to him for help. A lot of personal tragedy has also made him stressed, so his classes are stressful.

Had at least five classes with Dr. Buck - didn't really enjoy any of them. Often displayed lack of patience when students asked questions about previously mentioned subject (just for clarity's sake)... but that was because he often didn't communicate well.

Dr. Buck is confusing, disorganized, and more than a little pretentious. He picks favorites and is not subtle about it which I found irritating even though I was one of the favorites! His midterm and final include terms that were not discussed in class. It was hard to understand what he wanted in the writing assignments - the grades seem arbitrary.

I have had this professor for three classes--and they were all the same. Read the text, memorize the facts he tells you, spit them out for tests. I did not become a better student or a better English scholar because of this professor.

he is so confusing. Sometimes he had no idea what he was teaching about. He relies so heavily on his notes and the text. I hated most courses taken by him. Once he has his favorite picked, the rest of the class can forget being talked to. I would not recommend.

Dr. Buck is one of my favorite professors! He is hard for those looking for an "A," but he definitely helped push me to work harder and think on a deeper level than many of my other classes. If you really care about learning the material, he is a good choice!

Buck is ridiculous. He's unorganized, tries to stuff too much into a class period, wants class discussion, but only EXACTLY what he already has planned and he thinks his class is ridiculously hard. If you're smart you can blow virtually everything off. He's friendly and interested in you, but his pompous and self-adoring attitude cancels that out.
