Painting was fun and he was an interesting man but he grades horrible. During the painting process he made many suggestions and was very helpful but seemed close-minded when it came to the artist's personal expression in the critiques.

He would make me think I was making good progress on a painting by giving compliments and some criticisms. Then when it came to the critique, he would talk about how "disatrous" my work was. Made me feel like a complete low-life. I'd had 3 art professors prior to, in challenging classes, and none of them ever made me feel so degraded.

i love to paint, and after taking this class, i realized how little harry knew. he is very close minded, if he doesnt like your style or ideas, he grades poorly. art is the expression of the artist, and while quantity should be graded, i dont think grading on yourquality should be as difficult as it is to acheive. waste of time and not recommended

Harry is great! His comments are always helpful in improving the student's work and he's a very fair grader. Yeah, if you take his class you may actually have to do a decent ammount drawing (gasp), but you'll learn a lot.

Hmmmm...Yeah.... Do not take his art class for fun. McCue will work you till your fingers bleed. If he likes you and your work you will pass, if not....good luck. He is strict about attendance, work and oh...EVERYTHING.
