She does not teach how to do things. She makes you try to figure out how to do them yourself and then she rips it apart when grading it. She gets pleasure out of making her students feel nervous and stupid. Told me my work was "horrific" and "tragic"

I think if she took her own tests, she wouldn't pass them. She can hardly read some of the words on her power points, and some of them were misspelled. Really regret taking the course with her

Comment:

As a clinic supervisor, she expects a lot, however she helped me step up my game as a clinician. She gives great, constructive feedback and also builds your confidence with rare and selective praise. She is very tough about paperwork, but if you write professionally and listen to her feedback, you'll do great. Loved having her as a supervisor!

Comment:

Since there are only four tests it is a difficult class (Intro to Comm Disorders). You definitely have to study in order to pass, but if you do put time into it you'll be fine. I do believe Proff. Sanford is underrated. She is very knowledgable, and will definitely help you if needed.

Comment:

Sanford makes the class very boring. She lectures off of a power point everyday and doesn't make an effort to keep the class interested. Your grade only consists of 4 tests that are very confusing. If you study you will do well but she tries to trick you so be careful. Not the worst class every, but if you don't need it don't take it.

Comment:

One of the wort professors I have had here at IC. She is condescending, most of the time can not answer a question, reads right from the powerpoint, cant even spell things right and is not helpful. I would definitely recommend getting a textbook for her class as you will need it because you dont learn much in the classroom. Dont recommend her!!

Comment:

I'm a speech path major so I love the subject matter, but Ms. Sanford made this class my least favorite of the semester. She basically just reads her slides (which sometimes have spelling errors, even on vocab words), doesn't answer student questions clearly (often tells us to look in the text), and has a kind of condescending tone. Not enjoyable.

Mrs. Sanford puts all her notes in a powerpoint but basically just reads it to you, not much help in memorization (which is basically what the class is). When I went for help, she just went over the questions from our test with me, didn't provide much insight into how I would improve. She's not terrible but I'm not a huge fan.

I have taken a few classes with Sanford. The key to her class is to go talk to her and she will help you alot. I don't think she plays favorites...she just isn't going to tell you the answers straight out if it is obvious you didn't put any effort into it!

She is very PC and you must reflect her liberal, PC, multiculuralism back to her or you will PAY dearly. Remember not to target goals involving BE, as incorect use of the English language is a cultural right.

She follows the book but goes in a random unclear outlined sequence.She doesn't put any notes on the board and just talks its uneasy to take clear notes from her lectures because she goes off in tangents comes back and starts talking about random stuff. Need2kno book more to understand class lectur
