Dr. Porter is a genius who has worked for NASA. As such, he expects alot from students. If you are not a CS major, avoid at all costs. However, if you are a CS student you will learn alot. He is very helpful but at the same time his class is extremely difficult.

Dr. Porter is an extremely helpful professor who is also enthusiastic about the subject. Lectures are clear, and he will not leave students behind in the dust. He grades fairly. I would highly recommend him for any class. It's a pleasure to be his student.

Awesome Professor, but VERY HEAVY COURSELOAD. If you are a major, he is probably the best. If you are not a major, you may get in over your head. Anyway, balance your load out with other easy classes and you'll do fine if you work your tail off.
