Hope she gets bombarded w/ love & research grants b/c she's one of the sweetest & dedicated profs who actually cares. Accessible outside office hours & talking to her feels like talking to a friend or mom. She's very passionate about linguistics and her lectures show it! Anyone who has something bad to say about her can go catch these hands <333333

Heather was my thesis supervisor. SHE IS JUST GREAT. I never took her class, but as a supervisor she is extremely engaged and helpful. We had weekly meeting every week. She had a concussion last year, and she was still caring about my thesis while in hospital. p.s. Her enthusiasm and genuine interest in phonology truly inspired me. Thanks Heather:)

I love her but I hate her class. She is an intelligent linguist and a kind mother, but really has a long way to reach a good teacher. She needs to figure out how to share her intelligence with her students in an appropriate way. Everytime i hear "oh it's a typo" makes me feel like she doesn't respect her work and her students.

Heather Goad is such an inspiration! One of my absolute favorite professors here at McGill; I take classes of hers just to have her as a professor. She is absolutely charming and has a fantastic sense of humor. All in all, she is adorable and has an amazing passion for her field. I highly recommend taking her classes! It's worth it!

Prof. Goad is wonderful. Clear lectures, engaging, and really genuine and nice. Took time to explain things when I asked questions after class, and replied to EVERY single discussion board post on webCT--- I was amazed! I plan on taking as many of her classes as possible in the future!

Certainly the best prof I had in my entire 5 years of university. Extremely helpful, engaged, invested, funny and knowledgeable. I've taken 2 other classes just because she'll teach them. The class is super interesting - no underwater basket weaving but if you stay on top, you'll love it.

The person below me is a fool. I had no idea what linguistics was but this class was amazing, it was very interesting and not hard if you study. The only drawback is a tiny quiz every week in conference, which means you always have to attend conference. Prof Goad is amazing, very cute and super nice, makes the subject clear and interesting

OKay. where to start. If you think you're interested in Linguistics, but don't know... DO NOT TAKE 201. Take 200, with the possibility of taking 201 later. This course is VERY hard otherwise. Heather Goad is the better of the two profs, and is much more clear and helpful. this course ended up being a huge headache for me

Great prof. I entered as a science freshman and after taking her intro to ling changed over to major in linguistics. I ended up doing very well and really enjoyed it. I just can't imagine how much this one course had entirely changed my life (believe it or not!) I have never met a prof with so much enthusiasm and genuine interest in her subject.
