AVOID HER! She was my seminar leader and didn't even take the time to learn the names of her 13 students. She picked out minorities in the class and asked them to speak on it. She is extremely unclear in what she teaches and is constantly interrupting and undermining the other profs in the lecture classes. I didn't read a single reading and got 80%

Comment:

One of the worst profs I have ever encountered. Very unclear. Often has to rephrase questions several times for the class to grasp what she is talking about. Talks about respecting diversity, yet stereotypes everyone in the class. Avoid if possible!

Nice woman but lecture style is bad. Uses horrible powerpoints with only words that she reads out to you. Misunderstood by the "pet names" she gives to her students like love, hun, darling. She's being sweet but some felt annoying/offensive. Class was about teaching to the student's needs but didn't meet mine. 75% of marks came from exam.Good luck!

She is absolutely a horrible prof! She lectures all about how important education should be inclusive but when a student in her class is needing special accommodations, that is out of the question to ask for a volunteer note taker and such. It is annoying and belittling when she classifies the students as 'puppies'. We are not dogs.

What to say? I did well in her class, but it was a lot of furious note taking. One time I went and chugged 2 beers at the Education Beer + Pizza day and WOW! Her class was so much more tolerable and I still took good notes. Beer and pizza worked for me what can I say it made the class more interesting!

Very hard to figure out if she is a nice person or cares about students or not. Throws a lot of information at you and makes you feel stupid if you don't know it. Arrogant and is the stereotypical prof who puts herself above everyone else. Can't avoid her though.

Heather... what to say. Crazy and hilarious. Half the days I fell asleep from the drab material, the other half I laughed at her antics. She's funny, and somehow knows almost everyone's name. As a teacher... kind of confusing, uses jargon, uses dialogue to help further understanding. You can't avoid her though, required class. Use study groups! gl

Wow! Heather was the most random prof. ever. Her and the seminar leaders were never on the same page..which made class even more confusing. Her midterm is super long and once again, confusing. She is very smart and uses psych. lingo that no one understands. To survive this class, form study groups and split up the neverending amount of reading.

I thought Heather was a great prof...If you do the readings you will understand what she says and things won't be confusing...A lot of reading, but the material was very similar to highschool Psychology...Great Prof, fun, and is willing to go over tests (1-on-1) to discuss complications. Tests are difficult--Study hard and you'll do fine.

Very boring class. Completely technologically illiterate. Our best class was when she broke the overhead, the data projector and then continued to break the chalkboard. Hard to understand as her mike cuts in and out and your sure to leave with a head ache

Heather new what she was talking about, although she is sometimes hard to follow. If you are ever confused about anything do not hesitate to ask, she is approachable. Her exams are challenging, but if you study you will do fine! Get into a good study group and split up the reading!

she really knows the material and is enthusiastic about it. now if only she could be the slightest bit organized the lectures would be half bearable. her evaluation of tests and assignments was very inconsistent - it was impossible to know exactly what she wanted on anything.

Heather means well, but she is very disorganized and inconsistent. She re-marked all of our papers, lowering our marks by a good ten percent, and she never explained why. I felt the tutors were a waste of time, however I think it was just my leader. Heather teaches about having high expectations

Ugh, she is eccentric. She slashed our last essay by 10 to 15%, and didn't give any reasons. I feel sorry for anyone that has to take a class from her. Thank god for the tutors.

I enjoyed this class. I found her interesting. However, she was unorganized at times. Thank God for the tutors. They were a HUGE asset to the class.
