The quizzes are a half-hour long; she expects you to pull together 6 sources and write a good thesis in that time. I once received a B on one of these quizzes and was given one word of illegible criticism on it. She often goes on tangents which serve no purpose and provide nothing to the students for the things they're assessed on.

DO NOT TAKE THIS VISITING PROFESSOR AT U OF MICHIGAN. I stuck with it even though I was concerned about the TWO books on the list that had her name in the author slot... little did I know. I had to drop the class after she FAILED ME (F) on a paper (i'm an english major) that was a "book review" of a book that SHE HAD WRITTEN. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROF.

Comment:

I had her my Freshman year and I thought she presented her material compellingly and engagingly. She's a pretty lady and she seems sweet enough. Her liberalness isn't noticeable unless you're hyperconservative. She missed several class periods, but it might have just been a bad semester for her. Assigned materials were VERY interesting!

Took this class over the summer. It was a 10 week class and all I can say is the teacher has an attitude and thinks she is superior to everyone else. When she answered student emails or questions, which was rarely, she was very condescending with her reply. She even made the comment that she grades once a week because it was the summer. Avoid!

I took this class online over the summer, it is great if you like to work at your own pace, you need to be self motivated, if you are you will do GREAT!!! Teacher is VERY helpful:-)

Extremely helpful, very fast responses to emails. This was a writing and oral intensive class but she basically dismisses the oral requirement, infact about 1/4 of the class didn't get to theirs and that assignment was n/a for them. Just write how she wants you to and you will get good grades. I suggest her for your W and O requirements!

I learned nothing in this course really, it was a redundant going over and over again of old topics about people being opressed, especially women. She makes it so you HAVE to go to class to make a grade which is very annoying. You have to take friggin journals of movies she shows, and turn in the notes you took. DONT TAKE HER

This class was the biggest waste of a semester. She was the most boring professor that I have had the misfortune of taking. She constantly jumps around history instead of approaching it in chronological order and she doesn't seem to care about how she teaches, she is the last one in and the first one out. I would recommend taking someone else!

Simple format, but dreadfully painful to come to class. Two out of the three classes a week are manditory attendance b/c you turn in a test or notes. i would recommend taking this class with someone else

Personally, I think she's a great person, but that class makes me want to shoot myself in the face. It's too fast-paced for me. We seem to jump around in history, briefly going over the main things. The quizzes are once a week, and consits of one "critical thinking" question. Don't get me wrong; this woman knows her stuff. She's even written a book that got excellent reviews. Only take this class if you want a real challenge.

History of Radicalism is a great class. She is very intelligent, not a disgrace to the department! We are lucky to have her at UNCC. Enjoyed her class a lot. She helped with my paper writing skills. Excellent woman.
