Very professional and really knows her stuff. If you are interested in archaeology or anthropology she is a must take. Relatively easy grader as long as you at least try and bother to learn. Really just wants her students to learn and be curious above all else.

Anyone complaining are ONLY bored by the 103 courses and aren't taking her for the upper level courses of Archeology. In the upper level courses you are essentially working w/artifacts from her field sites, washing, cleaning, categorizing, organizing etc. I love this class! In this class you learn what is needed if one decides this as a career

I took this class thinking that it would be an interesting class about studying cultures through famous landmarks, not at all how it is. This is an archaeology class that is painfully boring and impossible for those who aren't interested in archaeology. If you aren't an Arch major, she doesn't care about you or your grade. she also ignores emails.

She is the best teacher at WCU, no joke. She will do anything to help you if you need it. If you're gonna take an Ant course, hers are recommended first. I love her. She's so cute and sweet and really REALLY knowledgable.

I LOVE HER!!! She is sooo nice and seriously so helpful! Take notes on the power points and you'll be fine!! I never read any of the readings and got a B+ and missed 6 classes! She's soo knowledgeable and really knows what she's talking about but dumbs it down in ways we can understand! She's back from Sabattical now.. highly suggest taking her!!

I had her for fall 2012 semester and LOVED her! I marked I had for her ANT 1O2 but only because i couldn't remember the actually section, she was very clear and very sweet! She is on sabbatical until fall 2013 semester but I recommend taking her if you can! She takes attendance every class but I missed 7 classes and still got an A for attendance!

Dr. Wholey knows her stuff. Her lectures are clear and concise, as are her tests. The class is very straight-forward. Attend all classes, do the work and study, there's no reason you can't pass the class!

Dr. Wholey is one of the best professors I've had at WCU, hands down. She really TEACHES. You can tell she knows what she's talking about. Her lectures are never too difficult to understand. Her tests for 100 lvl courses are all mult. choice and fill in the blank. Easy to pass as long as you go to class and pay attention during lectures.

very boring!!! I had to force myself to pay attention in this class and I still couldnt focus. Its hard to study for the tests because even though she tells you to go over the powerpoints, your notes and the textbook you dont know what to study and a lot of the stuff on the test becomes unclear. DO NOT TAKE

Interesting class. You get out as much as you put into it. Taught from view graphs and testing was difficult due to relying on view graphs in large numbers, shown quickly, tried taking notes and also writing descriptions of vg's. Read text and did not miss one class..worked hard and did extra credit..got a B Was disappointed with the grade

Although the class was easy, she was very unclear about what she expected. For our final response paper, she just told us to look in the syllabus for the requirements, and if we followed them we would do well. I don't know whether she is a tough grader or was in a bad mood when grading but most of the class scored at or below a C level.

good teacher. easy to do well. you'll need to study if you want an A, but you can definitely get a B without studying. loved the class. found her to be a little obnoxious sometimes because she always tried to impress us by emphasizing that she has a husband and a baby. i simply didn't care. anthro is much more interesting than your personal life.

Extremely nice lady. Her teaching can be a little boring, but I was able to stay awake and stay interested. I found her really easy. Didn't read any of the material, just paid attention in class and took notes, and got a B+. If I had to, I'd take her again.
