by far one of the best professor i've had so far. helen cares about each student, respects different opinions, and is extremely patient and helpful with just about everything. i'd highly recommend taking this class. if you enjoy photography you will have an amazing time.

Helen was very understanding professor when I went through the worst time in my life. That's why I couldn't give her the worst score. But honestly she's a little pretentious and sometimes lectures condescendingly. I'm not trying to put her down it's just truly for lack of a better term. I would not take her class again, she was just a turn-off.

Helen and I have somewhat different opinions on what makes a good photo. However, never have I had a professor so willing to see things from a different point of view. She knows her stuff and even though she can be particular about things I highly recommend her class, it's the most fun I've had at SC in 4.5 years.

One of the best professors. Shows high interest in student work, very supportive and patient. She goes out of her way to help students. Any extra effort is appreciated and rewarded. Strict with class policies. Def, take 209 with her for a great experience. Also, she brings cookies to class!

Helen is one of my favorite professors at USC. She has an incredible knowledge about photography and really pushes all student (regardless of skill) to be the best they can. She is a lot of fun and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting in class for however many hours we had to. If you are considering a photography course she is the only option.
