Helen is a lovely woman, although makes a class much harder then it has to be. She is unclear sometimes about what she wants from students. She tries to come up with examples for everything but often loses track of the point she was trying to make. If you read the textbook and study from that you will be better off.

Dr. Mallette's lectures are filled with unwelcome personal stories and dated course material. Test are not well laid out. If you have problems with the course she's not open to talk. She forgets many things: marking your assignments, posting marks and responding to emails. New, younger profs are needed.

Don't be fooled by her kindness; this prof means business! She expects a tremendous amount of work from her students, but always makes herself available for extra-help. A bulk of your final grade is made up from group work and attendance, so show up and work together for a fair mark.

This teachers methodology of teaching is sub-standard at best. The content is directly from text. No one meets her impervious marking standards. In addition, the ratio of content to memorize to relevant questions during testing is absolutely ridiculous.

Helen is a hard ass. She does not take late assignments under any cercumstances. You need to do all the assignments and study hard. Also, pay very very close attention to moodle because she puts almost everything on there and changes things without telling you.

By far the worst prof I've ever had. Way to many assignments that do not get marked in any sort of reasonable time. Not helpful, directed us to study the wrong sections for the exam.Wouldn't respond to e-mails. Still waiting for grades and the class ended weeks ago.

AVOID HER BIG TIME. SHE WAS AT BEST CONFUSING, UNREACHABLE, AND TOO BOOT RUDE. SHE WENT AWAY AND DID NOT EVEN TELL THE CLASS. Helen is a great prof...I took my course through distance ed. Very clear, nice lady, very knowledgeable in her field...and she brings real-world experience to the table. She does require you to work hard...but hey, suck it up- we're in University. Need more like her! Great job Helen...student of 6 years ago.

As a scholarship student, I got my worst grade of my degree in her class. She would choose the most obscure parts in the textbook as her essay questions and the best students who studied had no advantage over the slackers. Pop quizzes were given with no makeup, even though she always missed classes herself. Do yourself a favour and AVOID!!

what can I say, Helen Mallette does little to no teaching in her classes. She is annoying and goes off topic all of the time and then expects you to know everything on your own by reading the textbook. i would never take her again, I'd rather take a class from someone who teaches, instead of paying to read the whole textbook myself.
