My favorite professor here at CMU. Yes, the class is really hard (Physics 1) but he is THE BEST guy to take it with. He's super accessible and gets really excited when students come to office hours. Go to office hours and get to know him - he's fantastic and will work with you until you understand it. LOVE HIM!

He's a really great professor who really enjoys what he teaches, and he loves explaining concepts even if they're not a part of the actual class. He references the textbook a lot, and if you're taking Physics for Future Presidents, you'll want to use the textbook to do well. Quizzes are sometimes difficult, but not if you pay attention in class..

Professor Vogel is hands down my favorite professor. Not only is he very clear and explains the concepts well, he is willing to sit down with you and go through everything! I always go to him (even though now i'm in physics 2) and ask him for help. He is more than willing! I love him. He is a great and caring professor and friend!

Best physics professor a physics-phobic student could ask for! By the second week of class, my friends and I started to refer to him as our "german grandpa" He is super nice and makes it a point to get to know all of his students! Pro-tip: hes pretty generous at giving back points on exams if you go see him personally (office hours)

Generally a very good teacher, interesting too. The only thing that might take getting used to is "Vogel Math." You cannot use calculators on exams so you sometimes you have to make 'approximations' during the exam. Only in Vogel's class does 3*3 = 10 :-)

Vogel is an amazing teacher. He is good at explaining difficult concepts and always adds humor to lectures which keeps you paying atention. He tries hard to make sure that everyone understands the material. True, the class moves at an exceptionally fast pace and the tests are impossible, but it is still an amazing class which I enjoyed immensely.
