Henning Struchtrup is by far the best professor in the department. I wish he taught all of my courses. Thermo was the most interesting course in second and third year. Probably fourth as well. Much recommend

My favourite professor at UVIC. If you go to his office hours and he starts getting irritated, don't take it personally, it's just who he is ! He really cares about how well his students do , and his enthusiasm keeps you motivated. I would take any of his courses ! Work hard, ask questions, go to class, and you'll do great.

I loved Henning's 240 class. I learned a lot from working through his assignments and tutorials. His final was a little tough. I would recommend that you do lots of practice problems and you'll do great.

Good lecturer if you can understand his accent. Keeps class somewhat entertaining. Always available after hours, and isn't afraid to admit he has messed up on grading. The content is tricky, but he does a good job of explaining it and relating to real world examples. His textbook is also very useful as he wrote it specifically for his classes.

Best professor I've had at UVic thus far. The combination of his lectures, real-life thermodynamic applications, and his thick German accent makes every lecture engaging and enjoyable. Will definitely be taking any course he offers.

Awesome.....one of the best professors I have ever had. I had no interest in Thermo before taking his course. People who complain are looking for an easy course. Its engineering! What are you expecting? I would take any post-grad course he offers.
