Professor MacGillivray could be kind of ditzy at times. She didn't really understand how to work technology and her lectures were boring and sometimes confusing. If you miss class, her powerpoints are not very helpful on learning the material, and there were no textbooks but online material that took hours upon hours to read.

Taking this online was a breeze. Obviously, there was lots of reading, but she was straight forward with everything that she was expecting. I took this as an 8 week course and it was worth it, while trying to get that last writing intensive requirement out of the way!

I LOVE, love, love Dr. MacGillivray. Other kids in my class aren't as fond and I can't see why. The labs are fun and help set in the info from the lecture, and the quizzes are online and give you enough time to use materials. She will help you figure out classes and will help if you have problems with other teachers. I highly recommend!

Her quizzes weren't too bad, they were straight forward if you payed attention to her lectures. Her lectures are pretty long but they are also helpful. Her lab is super easy and can be really fun some days.

I loved her class. She gives weekly quizzes, but they are all online and correspond with her powerpoints in class which she also posts online. A few projects along the way as well and lots of in-class group work. Very fun class overall.

Make sure you are serious about fashion before taking this class. The only exams are weekly quizzes online with one final exam at the end of the semester which are all pretty easy and you can take twice. I would recommend this professor because she was in the fashion industry and knows what she is talking about.

As other students have said her email responses are very immature and rude! Very opinionated and selects who she wants to excel. No desire to help if you are not in that selection of students. She takes it upon herself to determine who she sees fit for this major.

I averaged an 87.23% and received a "B". I emailed professor and told her that I was never late on any assignment and that I expected a "B+". She told me that "your grade is a B and will remain a B, happy holidays". Rude, not willing to budge on the grade. I earned a B+ not B. Course material is interesting. Worse professor at CMU.

Super unhelpful to any student. She is very rude when she emails you and doesn't care about you or passing the class. I don't recommend. The worst teacher I have had at CMU. Don't take this class or anything she teaches.

Really not to hard of a class, if you screen shot the power points and then look at them while taking the quizzes you'll be fine. The final project wasn't to bad, a little tedious though. Overall not to bad and worth taking online for the U.P.

She was not very helpful and I would NOT recommend this class unless you absolutely need it! There were questions on her quizzes that were not apart of the lessons or they were asked in such a way that you were confused. The class could be fun and educational. But, she takes the fun out of it and makes it harder than necessary. Best of luck.

Loved this class! She kept things fun and entertaining. Don't wait until the last minute to start your projects and you should receive an A. She will also look at projects before you turn them in and tell you if your on the right track. Attend class and get extra credit to boost your grade.
