Comment:

Great professor! Hilary blends human and physical geography into interesting lectures, providing multi-faceted aspects to the region/topic you're covering. Her sense of humour and passion for geography makes the lectures and content more engaging. Take notes and copy the drawings/maps she does on the board, they're very useful to study for exams.

She knows her stuff, lectures are full of info but scattered and hard to take notes on. Our class had a 50% average on the midterm, instead of helping us she refused to give any study guide or info about what would be on the final. The class had a 41% average on the final. She is be funny and is very knowledgeable, but doesn't care for her students

Professor Sandford is a great professor. If you take copious notes during class and complete the homework assignments, you'll do just fine. Make sure you take note of the topics discussed in class and ask her questions if you're unsure about anything. You do NOT need the textbook. She creates her tests based on homework assignments and lectures.

Hilary is by far the best prof I've ever had! Only con is lectures are sometimes scattered and unorganized but super interesting and fun! Make sure you attend class because her lectures sometimes stray from her lecture notes, and extra info will be on the tests. (she will give you some tricky multiple choice) Shes super helpful if you need any help

Hilary is a great prof. Her lectures are super interesting due to her awesome humour and attitude towards the subject. She's obsessed with the geography and the environment in general and it's clear to see! There's labs every week, 3 exams, and a final project which is pretty creativity-based but Hilary makes it sound easy.

Great sense of humour! Lectures are fast paced and can be hard to keep up with. Overall Hilary's great but I found her tests were unfair.

Hilary is so funny and you can tell she loves her subject. She does a lot of diagrams and her lectures are somewhat scattered, so make sure you go to class or you won't do well. She lets the class choose what's going to be on the exam and what kind of questions you'll have. The tests are tough but she's generous with marks. Definitely recommend.

One of the best instructors at Camosun. Attendance in lectures is very helpful in understanding the material. Although she does make the notes accessible online, her in class notes are broken down and doodled on the board until it is ingrained! Also, she loves seeing students participate, so just go to class. The lectures are interesting and fun!

Hilary is SO funny. She clearly is very passionate about the topic shes teaching and wants every student to succeed. Labs are not that hard but very informative, you can always ask her a question in class youll not only get a solid, easily understood answer, youll get it in a hilarious tone

I truly considered studying geography for my life career when I took this elective. She made me so passionate for geography. Her lectures were absolutely fascinating, and I can recall nearly every class and what I learned in it, despite taking this course a year ago. By far the most fascinating class I've ever taken. Work hard, and you'll do great.

Hilary is a great professor. Always very funny. with a dry/cynical sense of humour. Lectures are engaging and interesting, with notes posted online. Labs/assignments are generally straightforward. Tests are created as a class, so you know exactly what will be on them and what to study.

Hilary is the best. I've had her for 3 geography classes at Camosun and she's hilarious, super intelligent, and incredibly captivating. Put in the effort and you will do well. I would take any of her classes again. Students design tests together so you know exactly whats on them (doesn't mean they're easy). Dynamic lectures, don't miss class.

Hilary is a wonderful professor. She makes it almost easy to get up for an 8:30 class because the topic is so engaging and she brings her passion for Geography to the lectures. Occasionally the lectures are long and boring but she finds ways to mix it up. G100 labs are long, I suggest having a lab buddy. Do your homework and you'll do well.

Witty, thorough, interesting. Hilary has the ability to keep you interested in lecture for two solid hours. Her labs are up to date, applicable global issues as well as small scale communal. Easily one of my favourite profs so far.

Hilary is an amazing professor! She is personable extremely passionate about what she teaches, and wants to share it with students. She was available to get help from whenever i needed it. Lectures are lively, content full, and often relate back to what's happening locally which adds perspective. By far my favourite teacher I've had.

Hilary is a great professor! She's really passionate, funny, and helpful. She goes out of her way to help students, and tries to make all the content as accessible, understandable, and interesting as possible. Labs are ridiculously easy, but the exams are quite difficult.

Hillary was my favourite prof at Camosun. She'd make you laugh everyday, and she really did care about her students. She was a very fair teacher. You know EXACTLY what will be on the test and there is no penalty for late assignments. She doesn't use textbooks either. I had her 3 seperate times and all were very good, I highly recommend.
