After working for over 3 hours in the lab, he decides to change his mind on what he wants. He is unprofessional and vague in expectation. In fact, I would go so far as to call him the worst teacher I have EVER had. He freaked out when someone called him out on it in class. He should be fired as he reflects poorly on the program and our good school.

Comment:
Completely useless as a professor, does not return assignments or marks until almost the end of the semester, does not respond to emails. Labs are useless he doesn't even show up to most of them and his assignments are extremely vague in their instruction but marked very harshly. I'd say avoid him, but he teaches several required courses

Worst teacher I've ever had. His assignments are ridiculous, barely any guidelines. Our final grade is based on two essays (30% each) and one midterm worth 40%... all multiple choice. He can barely speak English, takes forever to respond to emails & is completely biased.

Serdouk is late almost 3 times out of 4, it takes forever to get any feedback on the previous assignments, his lectures are pointless and even if you get over 80% on the midterm it's probably cauz u've taken a stats class in cegep.. good luck.. im transfering UdeM next year.

Comment:
What an absolutely useless professor. Serdouk is the laughing stock of the program: he rambles on for hours, is extremely disorganized, explicitly lashes out at students, cannot even teach students the proper vocabulary necessary in the field. I often wonder how he still has a job as a teacher.

Comment:
He teaches a lot of mandatory classes and that is unfortunate. He means well, but he is a horrible teacher. I definitely would not take him if his classes weren't mandatory. I don't feel like i come out of his class learning anything, however, it is easy to get a good grade. When he says you have to be there for class, he is fabricating.

Not a bad teacher BUT, if I could, I'd avoid to take another course with him. He's not clear. A very tricky midterm (80 multiple choice questions), 2 assignments...No final exam but everybody is struggling doing the final assignment because the guidelines are not clear and as "we're not in kindergarten" we have to "guess" what he expect us to make

Hocine is a funny guy but his design class (250) was not too easy. In fact wha he teaches in class is not very intricate but for some reasons a lot of people got bad marks on the midterm. u have to be a really finical person to have good mark for the design projects. If i had the choice.. i would try another teacher. gd luck

First i liked him and he looked dymanic. He knows how to catch your attention but after 2 month, i realised that Hocine doesn't seem to care about his students very much. He never replied to my emails, never available for the labs. He roughly tells you what to do and you hope and pray that you did understand. He makes me want to study elsewhere.

He may be knowledgeable on the subject, but his lectures are distracted ramblings and he cannot answer questions clearly. The class has no guidance, and for many of us, this is our first foray into representational methods. I would advise avoiding classes taught by him, but many of them are required, so it looks as if we're all screwed!

In the 200 level course you tend to like him, until you actually start paying attention and prepare to have a career in urban planning. Then you quickly realize that this guy should not be teaching. Good thing he doesn't teach any spec/honours courses.

Watch Hocine google! This class is like all his others. You only appreciate Hocine after not having him and enduring Concordia's other fine teachers. He is energetic, and I like him. He is a good guy.

His projects are unclear and it's hard to tell how he decides marks. Test is easy though. Rarely comes to labs. Even when you ask him for help he'll change his mind later and penalize you for doing what he said you should do.

LOL Funny, he criticizes students when he: 1:wikipedia's info for lectures 2:he cant even make one sentence nor one slide without an english typo albeit several years at Concordia.I'm sorry but I had him back in 2004 and now 2008 and the quality of his class is starting to dramatically affect our learning,he was 30min late almost each class

LOL, well after having 5 of his courses it strikes me how hes still there. But not enough space to say why here.I wouldnt read everything, wait until a week b4 exam he assigns the real reading which will be on exam.Expect alot of typos and scattered incoherant slides. But VERY CLEAR GUIDELINES for assingments> not vague and subjective like most profs

USELESS! He changed assignment requirements hous before they were due. takes at least a month to give feedback on assignments. Does not know how ot grade... will see fault with most idiotic things. Blames everyone but himself for his problems (lateness of a assignments, disorganization of class...).
