Comment:
First of all he has the worst course notes, and his explanation lacks of knowledge. He also doesn't post readings for the textbook, so basically the textbook isn't required. I also went to go see him to ask a question, but he was so rude, and didn't even ask my question. If you have this professor for CHEM 212, I recommend you do not take it.

I've seen a lot of different teaching methods at uw. However, this prof was one of the worst I've had. A great chemist, but poor educator. Downright confusing in his explanations, talks down to students (very discouraging). Course notes are mostly, a copy from another website. Likes to hide behind complicated math but glazes over crucial details.

Most boring teacher I've ever had. Made already difficult material even more difficult by doing a terrible job of teaching. The material wasn't even in the textbook so I wasted $160 on that. Questions are unclear. Just memorize assignment answers and periodic table. Take this class with another prof.

Kleinke is a really nice, laid back guy so it's a shame he's not a good teacher. Really monotonous and boring class and his notes are carbon copies from another website!! See below... but I want to stress that he's a sweet German guy and all his photos on his website involve him drinking beer while attending conferences!

Know the elements in the periodic table. Most of the notes are from other websites. Hint: search Bravais Lattice under Google pics and you'll stumble into a site with "carbon copy" notes. This website will have all of those key comments that you'll miss in his class. Memorize your notes and you should do fine.

He never refers to the textbook. If you miss anything from the notes, refer to this website (carbon copy of his own notes):http://www.chem.ox.ac.uk/icl/heyes/structure_of_solids/Lecture1/Lec1.html
