Depending on your preferences, Holly Pike can be a good prof or a bad one. She does assign a lot of reading but it's English so as to be expected. She does get students to do presentation, though she is reasonable about it. Her classes are somewhat boring, as it is just her talking through the full class normally. Holly Pike is a very nice lady. She's extremely witty. She does give some written feedback on essays, but not a lot. She's a bit of a hard marker, but if you study and prepare, you'll do fine. Lots of quizzes. I do find the class a bit boring but that's mostly due to the material, not because of her!

Very nice lady but is an EXTREMELY hard marker. Very picky. She gives a quiz pretty much every single class so you can't skip. Gives a lot of reading and her exams are brutal. You have to memorize EVERYTHING. All stories, authors, quotes, specific details, terms and everything she spoke about in class. Also makes her students do a presentation.

If you have an interest in studying English, I highly recommend taking her. I had my doubts as I heard bad reviews of her, but I was very impressed in her professionalism and knowledge. A hard grader, but she is always willing to help you out and discuss ways of improving your writing. She's really witty, I loved her lectures.

Very funny professor, she really understands and knows her english. She gives daily quiz's to make sure we are doing the readings that are assigned. The answers usually are just a sentence or two. She is a very hard marker but this helps you build on your english skills. She is very helpful and wants you to come to her for help. I recommend her.

I had Holly for 3 or 4 courses and loved her. She's witty, and really quick to help you understand. If you're confused, ask questions - she can't read your mind! She teaches so that there are no surprises when exams roll around. Awesome prof.
