Comment:

His class isn't hard by any means but his tests are solely based on the book - lectures deemed boring and useless. The core project is a big portion of your grade but he doesn't give you any slack if he doesn't like your paper. Little disappointed my group only got a C on a paper we worked extremely hard on with little to no guidance from him.

Holt is quiet but posts all powerpoints online. He will give optional quizes online and most of the quiz questions are on the exam. Tells you when there are in class assignments. If you read the book and do some learnsmarts you will get at least a B in the class.

He crams a large amount of videos of him teaching, wants you to watch them all and provides little else. No power points. No forums for discussion. There are tests (not hard) and small group projects that serve to do little more than annoy, because your group changes weekly. Finally, the large majority of your grade comes down to one paper. Avoid.

If you are looking for who to take for the CORE, I would NOT recommend Holt. First off between the classes he had last year, and my class that currently just finished he didn't give any group above 80% for their core paper! ridiculous. Second, he doesn't teach, his exams are all self-taught and he makes them very challenging. would not recommend.

Nice guy, but I felt he made the course about what he thinks marketing is rather than what it actually is. Very picky grader, but it is definitely possible to achieve an A in the class. Exams are 100% based on the textbook, so READ THE CHAPTERS to study because the lectures aren't a good tool. Take the extra credit quizzes--they are exam questions!

He is a great guy and really cares about his students, but his lectures do not help you prepare for exams! Exams were very difficult. The quizzes were online, and extra credit if you did them. There were also a lot of in-class group assignments worth participation points.

He is a good guy and a good professor. 3 exams are online and then the final is the usual in class. He is a little quiet so if you sit in the back you might need to ask him to speak up occasionally. He works really well with students and his meetings with the core groups keep your project on track.

I am taking Dr. Wilson again for my MBA years later. He is the reason that I went into marketing and worked for SPSS. While current students may not see his bigger picture now, trust me, when you get into the business world, you will use more of what he says than any other professor. Great guy.

Not sure why he is marketing professor, because majority of the semester he talked about statistics and economics. His lectures don't relate to test material at all. But all exams are online, as well as quizzes which all count for extra credit. If you want an easy class, take him. If you want to learn something about marketing, go with another prof

If you actually want to learn marketing do not take him. He never actually taught us anything. Exams are online but you have to teach yourself all the material. You must read the book to do well on the exams. He grades so weird and never uses full numbers its always .4 or .8 . You can get a lot of extra credit by taking online quizzes.

Great teacher, explains things very well. He definitely makes you work. I am always skeptical of a professor when we use the book they wrote, but I would definitely choose him as an option when taking another class.

I took this class over the summer. I thought that Holt taught the material well in the short time that class was in session. He also gives good guides on how to use SPSS and also on the material that was being learned. I would recommend taking Holt for this class. Was always willing to help if you needed it.

Really nice guy, but a tough grader. It won't feel like you're learning anything in class but take notes because it will help for the tests. Put a lot of effort into the presentations and the questionnaire. Find a really good group!

This guy is the worst professor I have had at ANY level of education! If he doesn't like you, you are screwed. He seems mild-mannered, but he is an **** to the fullest! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! I suggest you take Devine instead.
