Comment:

Knowing that he was an author, I was super pumped to take a class from him. I was instantly disappointed. He was rude, swore way too much, and very disrespectful. He would call students out just to embarrass them. If you ask to meet up with him to discuss how to improve, he will never say yes. He is not approachable. He cancelled class often.

I would definitely take another class with Randy. He is very good at explaining his point and I gained a high respect for the subject he taught. There is criticism for his use of swears but I feel it made the class more entertaining and comfortable. He will only call someone out with the intent to engage everyone!

I expected better. He swears constantly and is pretty unprofessional. He is also a really tough grader. I got 80s in my last english course but in his class i have a low 60. He can be funny, but he is pretty rude and picks on his students.

Very interesting and funny prof. He gave us three essays and that's it for the course. Very easy, just do the readings, and participate in discussions. In general, it was good. One thing I didn't like is that he used curse words, it made me feel uncomfortable

Randy was very odd prof. He wasn't like other profs. He was very open with his students, and often used coarse language, which I found pretty unprofessional. Howeveer, his lectures were interesting and easy. Just read books and come to class. His assigned essays were not that bad and long. Overall, not bad, but I will not take again his class.

Randy is awesome. He is hilarious, and down to earth. He makes class fun and is easy to have great conversations with. The work load is manageable and the work is fun, his class definitely made me a better writer. All in all he is by far the best prof I've ever had and if I wasn't graduating this year I would take many more classes from him!

When Randy actually didn't cancel class he was a good Professor, and gave excellent feedback. Unfortunately, if you didn't write poetry like he did you would receive an awful mark. Creative Writing is subjective and he did not teach it that way.
