Prof. Navaz is awesome. He is very knowledgeable on the subjects he is teaching. He really wants you to get succeed. So he pushes you very hard. You have to pay FULL attention in his class and review your notes OVER and OVER again. If you want to LEARN the subject, he is the right teacher.

Clearly understands the material well, but regularly berates students. I wouldn't recommend asking him any questions, because he will likely make you feel like an idiot. He is extremely unforgiving, and doesn't seem to care about the students whatsoever. He only uses the textbook for the tables in the back.

Excellent teacher - seems to know the material well. Teaches well but the material moves so rapidly that students are unable to fully understand concepts. Fails to connect with students because of a rigid attitude he has towards teaching. Tells students not to come to his class if they're even a minute late. "This is not a hotel, this is my class"

Excellent professor... His lectures, quizzes, and exams really make you learn the material inside-out in a way that you will never forget. Are his classes easy? No, because he expects you to learn and EARN an A, not just get one for showing up to class. Study your notes, RE-SOLVE the examples he does several times, and show up to class!

Tests you on the nitty-gritty of material he teaches, so pay attention and STUDY. Has a sense of humor, underdresses for class at times, whiteboard notes relatively clear, doesn't mumble. Pretty average, and willing to help if you ask for it.

He's interested in seeing seniors graduate. The lectures and labs are very clear-cut and his expectations are clear. TAKE HIS LAB AND LECTURE IF HE'S TEACHING BOTH. Exams came directly from the quizzes, and he offers plenty of opportunities to improve and correct your grade.

Take this prof for Thermo!! He really knows his stuff, and likes his students to do well. He is extremely helpful and makes sure you know the material. The first half of the class was quite challenging with the amount of material covered, but after the midterm he only solved examples with the class. Attend class, study, and you will be fine!

This guy is wicked tough, but guess what...its grad school. Grad school is a process he expects you to find your own answers, and most of the time you will, he will guide you along the way He is understanding and wants you to do well, but he expects you to learn. I hope you can take fast notes, about 26 pages per class. Buy the reference books.

Challenging professor. Had him for about four weeks until I dropped the class. I couldn't score higher than 30%, although the main reason I dropped was that he kept chewing us out for not trying hard enough. Although talking with the few that stayed in the class said he got easier after that point and started to get better grades.

I dropped him the first time I took him because I was not up to the challenge. I took him for upper leel courses (500's) though and I now consider him one of my favorite profs. He pushes his students to learn and to do things on their own, which will be very helpful to me as a grad student and as a professional.

Though he has a tendency to go off on rants about useless we are compared to students years ago, you WILL learn the subject. I expected thermo to be extremely difficult and ended up acing all the tests and nearly all the quizzes. Pay attention in class, and study and you'll do fine.

Navaz did a good job teaching the class being that it was his first time teaching it. He tended to go off on tangents during his lectures. All tests were take-home including exam. Overall a pretty good prof.

Amazing professor! Easily one of my 2 favorite professors at KU.(Hargrove is other fav) Navaz will teach you the material, he cares if you learn it, and he can tell if you do. The first test sneaks up on you, but that is most likely the result of studying enough.

Good prof...really knows his stuff. Bombed first test (40%), talked to him, actually did some work/studying and ended up with a high 80's. Easy to work with.

I had him for Thermo and honestly I was worried about getting him, but you know what? He actually wasn't that bad. I learned a lot about the material and enjoyed it. Navaz is not a very hard grader in the beginning, but he'll turn it up a notch once the subject starts progressing. Show some effort and keep an open mind, I think he appreciates that.

Knows the material very well, and knows if you know it. YOU WILL BE WORRIED OF FAILING but if you honestly put an effort, you will do fine. This professor is harder, but he is not a jerk. If you bomb test1, but show definite improvement in the rest of the tests you will do pretty well. He started doing examples with students durring class-:)
