I took econ macro lower division and I really enjoyed it. Thought it would be the same for 320 macro, I was WRONG. I was lost during the whole semester. Test are really hard and he goes off topic like no tomorrow. Talks about the Kardashians. Waste of time, dont waste yours. His a nice man, just not a good professor.

He's an old Englishman that loves to talk about just anything. I do enjoy his lectures, but I had to teach everything myself. I already have a strong background in Economics (concentration), but it was rough on the other students. His lectures had NOTHING to do with the material, and he doesn't use the book. Be prepared to be self taught. BIG CURVE

Worst instructor ever. Doesn't explain the material; instead, he discusses his political views and expresses his racism towards different group of people. His tests are so hard and it's difficult to pass them since he wastes class time on his nonsense stories. Overall, pretty bad experience.

If you have an already strong foundation in Economics, then you can take him. He's a VERY smart Professor who talks about a lot of economic events... none that many students really care about. His exams are based on his lectures-- take NOTES because he repeats the same things over and over, and it will show up on the test.

TERRIBLE! He gives handouts that are from 3 years ago and are FULL of wrong information. He teaches you for tests for about 5 minutes and then goes on his political ideological rants for 40 minutes.

I enjoyed going to Naish's class, he usually talks for the first 40 minutes of class about current events and sometimes teaches the last 30 minutes. Exams are multiple choice and is based on his handouts which follow the Mishkin book. He is a funny guy just make sure to get around 70% or higher on your tests & you are guaranteed a B or better

Bring tissue to class because you will laugh, hysterically! He goes off on wide tangents & teaches last 15 min. Here is the course outline of topics that will be discussed: hybrid cars, gasoline prices, Toyota Prius, Apple Macs, food, wine, beer, travel, etc. This is a teach-it-yourself class. Also, bring tissue to Exams because you will cry!!!

Don't take him unless you want to be bored to death the entire class when he goes off on rants or talks about something that has nothing to do with the subject he is SUPPOSED to be teaching. I am so happy I dropped the class, otherwise I would have ended up with an F.

Don't read the book. You only need to go to class to get the handouts (which have everything that will be on the test) and be entertained by prof Naish. Know everything on the handouts and you'll be fine.

Naish is late to almost every class. He will humor you for the entire class period then decides to teach during the last 15 minutes of class. If you study the textbook it is useless because his material is way different. He gives you hand written notes that are hard to read and doesn't make any sense. I wouldn't recommend this teacher to anybody.

I was looking forward to this class since the day I picked Economics. I am sad to report that Naish is not the guy who should be teaching this class. He takes an interesting topic and almost completely ignores it. If you can teach yourself the material, you will be fine. If you prefer to have someone explain it to you, forget about it.

I echo the last poster's comments. Professor Naish is a very comedic guy - but that's about it. He does not teach at all! He talks about hybrid cars, food, current events etc. for most of class then lectures sporadically in the last few min. You'll laugh alot but cry later come exam time. Has good curves to compensate for no teaching (self-learn).

Do NOT take this class. He likes to go off on tangents, does not discuss course material = you will not learn anything. His notes are unintelligible and confusing. Despite all this, he is funny and entertaining.

He was very entertaining and funny but you do not learn anything. He brings you up to date on what is going on in the world for the first hour then the last 15 min. decides to teach. The nice thing is that his C is a 55 in the class which helps most people pass.

Very cheerful & funny British. You will learn many interesting things: sport, weather, geography, science...EXCEPT what on the test. No HW, but his pop quiz will get you all the time, so read his handout and go to class. Exams are insane but his super curve gives you hope, 55%+ is a C ;P I C the final but B the class thank to his final curve. ^_^

He is hilarious! I seriously laughed every single class. He will go off on random tangents, but they are quite amusing. Go to class because his texts and quizzes are on his lectures themselves. His grading is easier than most, but you need to study. I would take him again if I wasn't about to graduate!
