Comment:

Professor teaches everything you need to know and gives homework with questions/problems/scenarios that are on the exam. Really helpful and this is a really easy class if you show up and pay attention. One thing that is a con is that stats is really boring ahah not sure if it was the prof or the subject that made it boring though.

I am horrible at math but everything you need to know for the exams will be in the lectures so you should definitely show up to class. He gives you the opportunity to buy his photo copy handouts of the slides he uses throughout the semester for $10. He gives hw, and you have to photocopy it to turn it in so be ready to go to the print shop.

Math is my worst subject but his class is pretty simple. a few test and a final. You dont need the textbook IF you come to class and buy his notes. Hes doesnt rush you and will give any help as long as you ask for it.

Such a nice and understanding professor. I hate stats and I managed to pull off a B-! I failed all of the tests but one so as long as you do the homework which is super easy you will pass. I would definitely take him again, take him if you had the chance. And I didn't use the textbook once all semester but I did use the notes he sells for cheap

Professor Tokunaga's lectures were kind of boring but informative. If you needed help, the book had clear instructions on how to complete certain problems, as did the notes he had us buy. He gave clear instructions and was very organized. The homework was helpful, but SPSS was a waste of time and paper. Overall, good stats teacher.

Lectures can sometimes be long but in the end they help you do well on the exams. Nice & easygoing professor. 4 exams & he drops your lowest score. I survived without buying his textbook as well as the packet that he sells. Just make sure you go to lecture and take good notes & you'll do well.

Took STAT 95 in Spring of 2016. At first I was really worried because I thought it would be tough and confusing, but the professor was very straightforward. All the stuff you write in the notes and the stuff on the homework is directly on the exams. Going to lecture helps A LOT because he goes over everything you need to know. 4 exams and homework.

Don't worry if you're not good with math. He is clear with the lectures and you really should attend if you want to pass. Pay attention in class. Buy the handouts, study your homework and notes if you want to pass the exams. The math is actually the easy part, conceptual is the hard part. The book helps a bit to understand how things work

Let me start this off by saying I hate math. Prof T was super helpful and thoroughly explained what was going on. The class was based on four exams and homework/SPSS assignments. The book is good to rent because it has practice problems for you to do to prepare yourself for the test, which helped me a lot.

His lectures are long but extremely helpful and easy to understand. If you attend lecture, do all the homework (it isn't a lot), and read the book then the class is an easy A. He is a kind person and will help if you're having trouble. Exams were decent, not too hard and homework was easy and quick. I'm glad I took his class

At first,I hated this class because I was struggling so much.I eventually decided to buy his notes (don't really need the textbook) and I'm doing really good now. Highly recommend to take his class. His lectures are easy to understand and always answers any questions. As long as you pay attention, you'll get a good grade. He's pretty chill too.

This was my third time taking stats and I was nervous that I would be terrible like the past. He is a thorough lecturer and give out hand outs for notes. This is an easy class if you go to class and pay attention. Always being a calculator or he will give a pop quiz. Homework is exactly like test. Greats teacher, take him if you need to state stats

He's a really really good stats teacher. He's very clear, and he is very thorough. I highly recommend tokunaga for stat 95! I wouldn't buy the textbook. You don't really need it.

He’s wonderful. One of those teachers who is actually funny instead of having poor attempts at humor. I got a little lost through the course but the book is helpful. Make sure you learn how to use your calculator! It’s really the biggest issue with understanding the class. Not a lot of homework but doing the hw is vital to success.

Very nice professor! He understands majority of his students are freshmen and tries to help with the transition. Overall, easy class as long as you pay attention in lecture and do the hw. Did not buy any of his materials and wrote everything down by hand.

AWFUL TECAHER! DO NOT TAKE. went to his office hours for help, told me he could not help me. Had to do problems exactly his way, tutors could not even understand his way. He clearly does not care about students and should not be teaching. Unfair grader, does not teach, refuses to help students that come asking for help. AVOID.

I have bad math anxiety but he is so helpful and his lectures are easy to understand but you need to tell him if you're not done with a slide. Very approachable during tests in case you need help, he actually will help! Drops lowest exam score, HW assignments but not too many of them. SPSS is the hardest assignment and he goes over those in class.

Phenomenal teacher! Succinct and lectures with utmost clarity. As others have mentioned, he drops your lowest exam score - counting only your 3 highest scores. Tests are MC follwed by a computational section. Quick at replying to emails regarding help. Only gripe is that he needs to slow down between slide transitions

This is by far the HARDEST class I have had to take. Not only did I have trouble keeping up, but I did not receive the help I needed when I went in to his offive hours.
