He's a nice guy, passionate about what he does. He tries his best to help you. A very tough marker though. He's assignments are hard considering what it is worth.

Ian is a super confusing prof, and spends time teaching you things that you've learnt in elementary school. His midterms and finals are hard, and this class is heavy with math so people who already struggle with it will need to work extra hard. Not very helpful, kind of condescending. Printing is my favourite class, but this one sucked

Midterm was extremely difficult (short answers from readings + multiple choice). Incredibly tough marker. Would avoid in the future.

Very good teacher, enthusiastic about teaching us new material and good at explaining concepts that can be a bit tough to get the first time around. Genuinely cares about his students and is always trying to communicate opportunities that are available for us to integrate ourselves into the industry before graduating.

Ian is a great prof and extremely helpful when you go and see him personally. I used to love him until his exam last semester, it was BRUTAL! Totally out of nowhere! I've never had such a hard exam. One girl was even crying. But other than that, he's good.

He is very nice, and he is very much in love with the program, so quite enthusiastic. Some people do tend to get annoyed by his excitement in what he's teaching, but he really does care and he's a good prof overall!

Kind of a creepy person. He gives off really weird vibes, and loves to act as though he loves all his students, but it's juts that, an act. He is a good chair. On the other hand, as a prof he talks to his students like children and repeats himself unnecessarily i.e. make sure you have a pencil and eraser before every exam, test, midterm... we know.

Creepy smile - overly nice all the time in a bad way. Not a genuine person at all, he only appears to be a nice person in order to portray a certain image to other professors. He is not a respected. I've heard two professors talk about how awful he is. He wastes so much time talking in class that you have no time and have to come back at open lab.

Nice, smiles a lot. Gets to the point in lectures. In labs, extremely helpful, goes way beyond detail and marks fairly on instrumentation. Make sure you have your lab with him if anything.

always wears tshirts that are too tight. has a creepy smile. but he's very humble and nice. always starts lectures 20 minutes into class. no cellphones or laptops. he legit gets mad. read the text, he relies heavily on it. also study EVERYTHING even things you dont think you should study.. they'll be on the tests !! hard marker too.

GRA534/634 One of two good profs in the GCM program. Knows his material, always willing to help, knowledgeable and teaches with enthusiasm, you can feel that he cares when talking to him. he wants every student to do his best and he is willing to help as long as you are willing to put effort into it. when someone perfects cloning, clone him.

He loves to begin class with a long coaching session. To the point of mothering. He gives a lot of information and is very concise in lectures. Evaluations tent to be hard. It's difficult to get an A on written submissions. Tests are all multiple choice. Read the material in advance to classes to ace the course.
