Never met this man in my life. Did everything he suggested to prepare for the final and was still blindsided. Really not impressed with his teaching abilities.

I really think people are way too harsh with this prof. Yes, he has an accent but it has nothing to do with the way he teaches. He shows how to solve the hard problems in class and makes exams very similar to those questions. How to succeed in this class? Read the book (super straightforward), UNDERSTAND the concepts/theory and do the problems.

Guys just don't do it. Take the online class instead if you have to and go to the tutorials (a must to pass the midterm & final). Aly is the course coordinator & his exams are HARD. Better to take the class with a teacher that will explain the material in a way that you will understand inside out so you are prepared for his exams.

First and foremost, Aly is an enemy not a friend. Approach his class with caution because it just may be the one that makes you consider dropping out of university. Attend the tutorials they're your only hope. Beware you have been warned ..

I started off prepared to hate Aly. I'll admit he's a bit intimidating at first, but you can't accuse this guy of not caring. Yes, he'll make you work hard, but put in some effort! Read the book, practice the material, go to office hours, and attend tutorials - you'll ace it. Don't let the reviews scare you, he's actually a great guy.

Dr. Aly is a very respectable man. I took him for Summer I and I was uneasy at first - but I discovered that he literally tells you how to solve his exams. He knows the material inside out and encourages students to ask questions. He's also very available during office hours

There is a distinct lack of clarity in his lectures, notably due to his accent and his chicken-scratch notes on the board. This is a difficult course as is, so either attend the tutorials instead or find a different lecturer.

Dr Aly is an exceptionally unpleasant individual. Not only is he incapable of writing or speaking properly in English, but he is also a very arrogant. He is completely uninterested in helping his students and he does not even bother to teach in his classes. To quote him in his improper english "SELF LEARNING." Do not waste your time with this loser

By far the hardest class I've ever taken. I've never wondered so much whether or not I was stupid. I think my biggest problem was that I just didn't understand him; his accent and methods didn't work for me. I stopped going to class and went to his TA tutorials instead, plus practiced every single exam I could. He may be tough but he means well.

Mr Aly Ibrahim is arrogant, unhelpful and a must avoid at all cost! Transferring from another University, I cant believe that Concordia employed such a teacher. He shows no interest in helping students succeed.

This course is super messy. You don't know what to expect nor what to study. I feel like the way it is organized is super old school. I took it online, I send 3 emails to the teacher and got only answered for one with a sentence. (I think it was 4 words). I don't recommend him at all.

Take this online, 90%+ of people do the midterm together and or find alternative was of doing his exam because he just makes them to hard, I didn't read a page until 2 days before the final and I got a B by using one of the tutorial services and I suck in ACCO.

What I remember the most from taking this course three times is "monkey see, monkey do." I take some accountability for not passing the first time, however I received nothing but poor explanations, dead end guidance and in the end sought out assistance from a CA at Deloitte. Some people teach and others are forced to teach.

He does not believe in curving grades; he'd actually fail the entire section. He actually failed 60% of my section. The difficultly level of his exams are indescribable. Avoid taking this professor!
