Andrew Murray is the best prof I have had so far at UVIC. English has always been my least favourite class, but since the first day of 101 it has been my favourite. Andrew teaches an a way that makes you laugh. He reached in a way in which you dont realize you are learning (its so enjoyable) until you are tested on it and you actually know it!

Comment:

Great survey course, picked a diversity of readings and explained them all with in detail and with clarity. Themes of class were connected to readings, building a context and knowledge of the zeitgeist of the middle ages. Hilarious personality, from LA so used to show-buiz and this Professor delivered on that! Prepare to be entertained.

Andrew is an amazing prof. By far my favourite English prof I've had, and I have never liked English as a class but this class was truly enjoyable. He cares so much about his students, gives great feedback, and often stays awake all night just to have tests/papers marked and handed back within just a couple days. Lectures are fun and entertaining!

Often Andrew would get off topic in his lectures and become distracted, thus giving us less time to understand/focus on what we were doing. Yet, he was an incredibly fair/easy maker and did not expect much from assignments (especially his midterm and final). Make sure you attend class because a lot is based off his lecture.

Great professor, guaranteed laugh in lecture. Effective teaching style. It's the best when he randomly breaks off into a relational story and uses his voice impressions during an explanation in lecture. He loves his ultraboosts

Very nice professor. He makes really intersting classes, with lots of funny examples and historys to make undestarding the contents easyer. He provides a lot of feedback and grade good. Very accesible.

Best English prof at UVic hands down. really funny and very approachable but also gives really interesting insight to the texts you read in class. there's very little reading required for this course and most of it can be found online anyways

He my favourite prof of uni so far!! He respects people's ideas and always tries to make them right! I had his class at 8:30am and surprisingly it wasn't hard to get up to listen to him lecture! He was funny and shared lots of personal stories which was cool. Always had an assignment due but they were never long or hard and he gave good feedback!
