Some of the reviews here are very old, +15 years. I think Dr. Kotserias has improved alot since. I liked his teaching style. He quickly replies to his email which is really nice of him. However he can be vague and confusing sometimes.

Literally told me to drop the class because I was asking questions 1 week in, and stopped responding to all questions altogether. Bad lectures and English, writes everything on the board for some reason even though his writing is absolutely terrible, because of that the lectures are pretty much mandatory. DON'T TAKE unless you have no other option.

Pros: class structure - 2 assignments, midterm, final project all notes online. fairly clear requirements Cons: will mark unfairly in order to get class average to where he needs it don't bother seeking his help as he will give you bs answers to get you to go away Bonus to him means going from 80 to 100 not above and beyond 100

He's a great prof. Communicates clearly both in class and online. The assignments are interesting and he sometimes invites guest speakers who specialize in a specific topic. He also forwards emails about related events and networking opportunities to students, which is nice

The lectures cover a nice spectrum of topics in AI. Assignments are challenging but interesting: you are given a lot of freedom in the implementation. As a professor, Kotsireas evokes your interest, but he is often unclear with his requirements, but if you put effort in, you will get a great mark. Two assignments, midterm, group project, no final.

I loved this class, I would say it's my favorite 411 class. You do have to have interest in the course and have to attend lectures. He's weird about his marking scheme, me and my friends don't understand it still but I did fairly well so I don't mind.

My advice is if you are in this class to just take last years answers or copy off someone else because he doesn't notice or care. Doing your own work is a bad idea. I think he belled the marks after all which is the only good thing about the class.

Guy can't speak english at all, completely just read powerpoints he bougt and he tested way harder than the other classes and made SO many spelling/grammer mistakes on the exams. Terrible teacher all around.
