Doesn't usually teach this class, and he shouldnt. He doesn't prepare for lectures and doesnt do examples if he isnt looking at an answer. Im sure he is smart, but he is lazy and lectures are useless. Give ridiculous test that are too long and have questions that are not covered in the class. If he says something wont be on a test, dont believe him

Comment:

Very personable, patient, approachable, and understanding. He listened to your problems and did his best to accommodate students; especially if you were struggling. Handed out notes in class, as well as posted them and practice quizzes on Moodle. No difficulties making appointments with him.

He gives out really good notes for every class which helps a lot because his lectures are a bit confusing. :/ Also a bit disorganized with his own teachings, but he's a very sweet little fellow, and will try and help you if you are confused.

The only good thing about him is he always hand out his notes in class, he post practice quiz online for you to try over the weekend. And then post the solutions to the practice quiz monday, so on wed we do the real quiz in class monday. He wasn't clear, and had to be taught things in lab, or given extra notes in lab to clarify.

The only good thing about Ilya is he hands out his notes in class and puts them on moodle. He doesnt explain things well, 75% of everything he taught had to be explained to me in the lab.

not well prepared for class, nervous standing at the head of the class, he much prefers you come to his office hours than to ask questions in class. inefficient. Will talk down to you at times. He knew he was incapable of teaching the course, and gave breaks by allowing us to have an open book exam, craziest nonsensical markings.VERY hard marker

The man is crazy, and thinks he's hilarious. As long as you go to class and pretends like he's actually funny, he will be. I think he prepares his kids well, but his classes can be quite a drag (aka I fell asleep in like 90% of them). Still, gotta give him some credit!

I am a BAD math student, however Dr. Blum at least makes math tolerable. He is very approachable and helpful if you need it. He also does a TON of examples when teaching a new topic, I thnk examples work. Awesome prof...math is just not cool.
