Pollak is too smart to teach. That being said, his new multiple choice approach to exams makes things a lot easier. He gives you homework that isn't due. You will not understand it, but you don't need to. If you want to know what to expect on exams, try to find a copy of his old free response exams.

Pollak is my favorite ECE professor at Purdue University. He really rewards people who put work in to the class. Exams are not difficult if you understand the homework. I definitely recommend him.

The subjects he teaches are hard, but he really isn't. Very thorough, and willing to help those who ask questions. Highly theoretical, mathematical, but this is more due to the subject matter. Overall, good professor if you're willing to put up more effort to ask questions.

Hard homeworks, easy exams. Very helpful at office hours and very considerate of students. Talks very quickly (and I agree, very well-dressed, especially for a EE prof!). Lecture notes are online which are amazing (we think he's writing a book!)
