Comment:
Ivor is amazing! He has so much experience and expertise, and puts in a lot of effort for all of his classes and lectures. He's also a genuinely interesting person, so I would recommend taking some time to speak to him and get to know him. I learned a lot from his online class, though the tests we had to take were kind of a mess.

All he did was show movies that he liked, get distracted by his own inability to not use technology properly, and constantly blamed students for his inability to concentrate on his own lectures.

Best class I took at Ryerson. Ivor was organized, enthusiastic, helpful, respectful, and intellectually inspiring. He made the material clear and interesting, and believed in me. These factors inspired me to live up to his expectations, turning in some of my best work. Ivor helped me believe in myself, and it shows in everything I do.

In my experience at Ryerson University, Ivor is the only person who can see through the transparent **** keeners who have their noses up all the other profs' asses. His class was genuinely enjoyable, and he treated everyone with individual respect. we were all his favorites, it seemed.

He's kind of interesting, he's a bit of an ass but generally complimentary at the same time. Very disorganized, like others said, he seems to have a bad memory.

Ivor's teaching style and my learning style were not always compatible--you have to ask him a million times just to get a simple question answered sometimes! But he is really passionate about writing and I always appreciated that.

Despite the fact I did well in his class, I would NOT recommend people take his class...pmsing Ivor...told my friend (who won the award for most promising journalist) that the faculty must have made a mistake letting her into the program.

Unclear, bad memory, somewhat insecure/overly sensitive. People say "Ivor's PMSing" because we never know what mood he will be in.

Because I know he reads these: I learned a lot in his class. In response to some of the other ratings, I write nothing like Ivor and he gave me good marks. Watch your grammar with him. My major criticism = he should make an effort to simplify his Bleckboard system.

Ivor is an excellent teacher and one of the reasons I enjoy Ryerson. Otherwise it is a crummy school. I know because I have attended actual university before coming to Ryerson.I don't see how anyone can have anything but nice things to say about Ivor. He always takes an interest in all his students.

Possibly one of my best experiences. This guy KNOWS what good writing is, and how to teach it too. Those that didn't get along with Ivor didn't like him because they couldn't handle honest critism from a vetern.

He played favourites and seemed to pigeon-hole most of us the first week of class. If you fall into his randomly chosen bad books, it makes for a very tough year.

I think we clashed at first because I was stuck in my writing ways, and wasn't used to being told to change, but by the end, I realize he was right. He will make you a better writer. He made me see not only what good writing is, but WHY it's good writing.

Supportive, encouraging, and oh so wise. Ivor and his class opened my eyes and improved not just my writing, but my understanding of what good writing is. If you get him, keep an open mind and be enthusiastic and you'll never forget the experience.
