He says the most inappropriate jokes. He makes me unbelievably uncomfortable. I can't emphasize enough how unorganized he is when it comes to him teaching us. I think I learned more from google translate and my elementary Spanish classes than in this one semester of class. It's a waste of time to go to his class because we use an online course.

This guy is horrible! If you are not fluent in Spanish do NOT take this class. He is funny but not a good teacher. He teaches random stuff that a normal Spanish student will have trouble understanding. So stay away from him unless your Spanish is really good or you're willing to work really hard.

I signed up on this so i could warn other people to never take this mans class. He is the most miserable man i have ever met. He never let us know what was going on in terms of our grades or what work we had to get done. He walked out of class one day because nobody was talking after he brought up the passion of christ. Absolute ass

Horrible. He posts the syllabus online, but it doesn't pertain to the class at all, he never makes assignments clear but expects them to be done, and he's an ass. He is so condescending. He cannot teach at all, I swear half of his Spanish is faulty, and he's blatantly rude, mean, and unhelpful. Save yourself, don't EVER take him.

He knows a ton of pertinent stuff, and is good at teaching it. Unfortunately he comes from a lot of money and because of this does not hesitate to condescend to speak to students (he might not do it on purpose). If you can handle someone laughing at an answer you give in class, he is a good prof.

I am a native speaker of Spanish, therefore I found this class very easy. However, I would never take him again. He does not know how to teach and I don't think anyone in my class learned anything. He calls on people randomly and makes you feel awkward. If I did not speak spanish already, I would dread this class.

I agree. Professor Fombona has actually gond beyond the books and taught us something we'll actually remember about spanish. So, I guess if you're looking to to punk out, then don't bother. But if you want a real teacher, and actually want to learn something, take him! And whenever i went, he was always in his office and very helpful!

I don't know why everyone is so down on him. He's turned into one of my favorite profs here, so funny, not hard if you at least try! Speak in class and he'll like you, even if you're wrong. This guy's got a seriously morbid fascination with disgusting stories that he made us read each week. If you want to read stuff about dead bodies, cannibalism and "el falocentrico" and watch movies with explicit sex scenes, take this class. If not, then stay away; your GPA will be all the better for it.
