Comment:

Not good! This guy stares at his notes and babbles for an entire class period, without taking the time to clarify anything he says. He's not an unfair grader (he grades on a curve) but he has a generally negative and confrontational attitude toward students. Avoid, if possible.

Comment:

Dr. Crabbs was for me on of the greatest instructors I ever had. Many did drop his class and thankfully so, as the semester moved along the commentary became more intense and the story unfolded with th eutmost clarity. If you love history and specifically that of the Middle East, his were THE classes to be in. Maximum respect sir! Karim Miknas

Absolutely terrible professor. During lectures, he reads directly from his notes and gives no explanations. He refuses to handle serious questions from students. He's hard to get along with, and often insults students in class. Don't waste your time with Dr. Crabbs.

I have one thing to say... Don't get Crabbs! He was THE worst professor out of my 4 years. Half of the students dropped that class, and of those who stayed only 1/2 passed. There was a class GPA of 1.33. He needs to retire.

The worst teacher I have ever had. He was boring, pedantic, conceited, hated females and needs to retire. The amount of snotty remarks he'd direct to women would turn your head. He would smoke constantly in class as well.

I took him for 466A, 466B, 467, & 468. His tests were multiple-choice and short-answer questions (no long essay questions) based mostly on his lecture notes. I received an "A" final grade 3 out of 4 times, but it was dull and unstimulating. If you're good at memorization, you'll do OK. His personality is grouchy, pedantic, & unpleasant.

I am not dissuaded by difficult classes or material. But Crabb's deficiencies as a teacher are literally crippling. First, he plays favorites to an almost ludicrous degree. In addition, he lectures the entire period and frequently goes off on tangents unreleated to the subject. He smokes in class and chastises people who remind him it's illegal.

For students that understand they are in COLLEGE,not high school,and expect to be challenged and not given an easy ride,a class wih Dr. Crabbs will be one of the most rewarding experiences. He's tough, but college is not meant to be easy. I learned more from Dr.Crabbs than any professor I have ever had. He expects high standards. What a concept.

He's an old guy, but he knows his stuff. I enjoyed his thoroughness and his clarity. He is very fair in test grading (grades like the S.A.T.). If you just go to class and take notes you'll do well.

He was the best History professor that CSUF had to offer. Very challenging but fair. Very easy. I took him three semesters in a row and received 2 As and a B. Had detailed knowledge of the Middle East from Ancient times to the Modern Era. I look forward to taking his position in the future.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU HATE YOUR LIFE!!! He is absolutely unclear and unhelpful. My class started with 70 people and ended with 13. He would encourage people to drop his class. I wish I would have (but I was a freshman I didn't know better). He grades his tests like the SAT's wherey you lose points for bubbling the wrong answer. DO NOT TAKE!

Although he is tough and a hard grader, he is lenient in his curve. Almost half the class was below a C, I myself was at a D at one point, and he curved it so I had a B. Its not easy, but he's not an ass as stated by others.

Omg this professor is the worst ever! He is so hard & difficult to understand. Not only that, his exams are like exams for a physics or upper level division class & this is only a lower GE level course. Don't take him.
