If you have a chance to take a world history class with Jack I would hes retired now and only teaches one class a term, and not every term. Best lecture series Ive ever been in.

He teaches this course completely by story telling. No slides. He honestly paints a picture for you, and makes learning this topic so interesting! You can tell this is his passion, and the stories he tells about his personal experience are so intriguing. Midterm and Final was long and you need to know your stuff, but that's like any other class..

He is one of the best history teachers i have ever had. He loves what he does and that shows in the way he teaches and the way is is supportive of the student. I love the stories he tell about all of the places he has been in his life. I highly recommend that you take his class

Amazing professor, he has been there since the college started in the 60's. His lectures are absolutely amazing and he has so much to share. Definitely worth taking if you like hearing more than just the basic information. Very open outside of class. He really wants you to do well in his class.

Had McCluskey for History 101 (Egypt to Rome). It was amazing, he's an amazing story teller and made me love history even though I thought the class was going to be incredibly boring. Would recommend for anybody who needs a social science credit The class had no homework unless you want to study. I ended with an A and didn't even own the textbok

Mr. McCluskey is an amazing professor. He is incredibly knowledgeable and open-minded and always in a good mood. He doesn't use the book (partly because he doesn't think students should pay so much for books, which is awesome) and his tests are 100% from lectures. He is flexible, understanding, and this class will make you love history!

Professor Jack McCluskey is a great person and teacher. He gives great classes, and extremely clear and educating lectures. He is also hilarious and brightens everyone's day as soon as they walk in. He's also very very good looking. 10/10 would take course again.

Jack was a fantastic teacher! He believes its his job to make us want to come to class so he doesn't take attendance. Lectures are long, but he gives them in a way that you draws you in like story time. Only dislike is that your grade is based entirely on two exams, but he clearly outlines what the test layout will be and ideas of the content.

This guy is amazing! By far my favorite history teacher. You can tell he really loves what he's teaching. He has all of the info in his head & says everything by memory. The class is just a long lecture, so be ready to take notes. He will answer any questions you have, he really just wants people to learn history. I would take his class again!

Jack is the most AMAZING professor I have had. Do yourself a favor and take this class. He doesn't use notes, and his lectures are so interesting. No attendance; he won't know you. One midterm and one final, so be good at writing essay form questions and know the information. Pay attention to his midterm and final reviews, and you'll do great.

He was an AMAZING teacher. Going into his class was always like a trip back in time. It's not like most lectures, he weaves a story back in time the entire class. Totally works with you on grade also. Got a D on midterm, but he said that whatever grade I got on my final would be my final grade.

His lectures were a bit tedious at times... but just sit through all of them and take good notes. I didn't read the book once. My advice: Record his review on a phone (or write as much of it as you can down). Then go back and make sure you know everything on that review. If you do this.. you will ace the mid-term and final. I'm serous.. it works.

your grade is fixed based on only 2 essays, one midterm, one finals. not too many option..his lecture can be overwhelming..he is a great teacher when he tell the story, but I wouldn't take him again because of his grading in the class

Best teacher I have ever had. He makes history come alive and Really very intersting, like a story. He goes off a lot on random stories but they always have some relation to what he is saying, i find it entertaining. If you take good enough notes you don't need your book at all. Your missing out if you don't take his class at some point.
