This was an extremely interesting and educational class. However, It's very frustrating when you follow every guideline necessary and you do not receive the mark you're entitled to. I know i deserved a lot more on the essays than i got, and its ridiculous that the TA's are responsible to our marks. Its a good class to take, but a frustrating one.

This class was very informative and interesting. Dr. Ornstein was very interesting, easy to understand, and his lessons were very captivating. If you don't enjoy essays, don't take this class. I took this class as an elective and came out with an A.

Super easy class. Everything you need to write in your essay is in his video presentations. I barely used the book. Did get some helpful quotations from it though. The content was also very interestion. Take it! Seriously I got an A+.

Never before have I been so proud of the work I submitted. Never before had I gotten such poor grades, either. The course scheme is quite pathetic, and as others have noted, the key to success is to be unimaginative as possible. Regurgitate the professor's words, no matter how irrelevant, and you are (supposedly) rewarded. Stay away.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The material was very vague. There was a lot of irrelevant and outdated content. The TAs were minimally helpful and the professor spent most of his time discussing his own opinions. The material is extremely redundant yet hard to sift through. The class is based on two 10 page essays and a final exam that consists of two essays.

Dr. Ornstein is a great teacher and a great person. I took his online biomedical ethics course and he definitely knows what he is talking about. He brings issues such as abortion, euthanasia, etc to you in a very logical manner for you to decide for yourself. Great course, would recommend!

Exactly what the previous poster said. I took this class because I was told it would be easy. Unfortunately my TA was an extremely harsh grader. In my papers I did not reiterate the prof's viewpoints, so I got a B. I did everything my TA had told me was missing in my papers on the exam, aka regurgitate the prof's words. Still got a B. Garbage.

Garbage course. Forced to regurgitate his viewpoints, lets T.A.'s run the entire course so if you get stuck with a harsh grading T.A. you are screwed. Avoid; I wrote exactly what was asked for and ended up with a B which ruined my GPA last semester.

Although I got an A+ in this class; I didn't like this class at all. No room for latitude or creativity whatsoever. If you don't follow what he wants and consider only his arguments, than you will fail. It's very easy to do well in this class, but there's no sense of intellectual integrity and objectivity. He passes his moral values as facts

The only issue i had with this class was with the TAs, when it came to grading. First paper, i received a B+, second paper i received an A. The issue with my 1st paper was that i didnt spend enough time looking at the other side of the argument, on the 2nd one i spent 1 whole page. My comment was: you didn't spend enough time on the other POV. Fail

The video lectures were extremely helpful and concise, more helpful than the textbook. The amount of reading required for this course was demanding. Having different options for our term papers was very useful. Overall, I enjoyed the material in this course.

Online biomedical ethics class; very interesting. I thought it was more demanding than this. I know the basics of writing an essay and when I chose my topics 2 days before due date, I was able to make a great text and get A+. Easy easy easy.

I AM A BUSINESS STUDENT AND HAD NO INTEREST IN TAKING A PHILOSOPHY COURSE, HOWEVER IT TURNED OUT TO BE EXTREMELY INTERESTING AND BEING AN ONLINE COURSE, VERY FLEXIBLE! THE GRADE DEPENDS ON THE STUDENT I GOT THE GRADE THAT I DESERVED FOR THE TIME THAT I INVESTED INTO THE COURSE. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO EVERYONE
