I was really looking forward to this class but I ended up hating it. Professor Osman talked about a bunch of information that never showed up on the test and expected us to memoorize the textbook (esp. little unimportant things). He also made us watch videos of older men and women masterbating. The entire class looked mortified and uncomfertable

He says his first test is the hardest, and that is true because he doesn't actually talk about half the stuff on it! Expects you learn more from the textbook than from his actual lectures. Wants you to be informed about options and risks, which is great, but he always had a really preachy tone about it. Knows his stuff but doesn't teach it well!

Funny guy. Definitely knows his stuff. You have to read the book to pass. He is fair in his grading but his tests are somewhat difficult. He listens to his students if you take the time to meet with him and tell him about your problems. He is a great teacher.

Prof. Osman is rude and arrogant. Demands that you buy the workbook (which he wrote). He is a bully and goes out of his way to embarrass his students. If you're going to take this class don't go to the bathroom, it ruins your perfect attendance.

Comment:

Basically a college-level Sex Ed course. Very interesting course but some of the course material made me feel like Dr. Osman was a "dirty old man" based upon what he picked to teach with (videos especially). Learned a lot of about STDs though and saw some really crazy pictures that definitely made me think twice about sharing myself with anyone.

Dr. Osman really knows his stuff. He makes class interesting and quite fun. His tests, however, are slightly difficult, but if you take good notes in class and read over the text book you can pass. It's a great class because he is really into Nutrition, I will miss this class for sure

I thought this class was going to be fun and easy. You have to write down everything he says because it might be on the test. You watch almost ****movies and don't dare miss more than 3 classes because you will fail. The tests are like finals and he is not very helpful.

I took this class Fall 05, and it was awesome! Osman is one of the few professors at Towson that I have actually enjoyed sitting in a lecture. If you study you can do really well. After doing extra credit and pulling off a 100% on the final I got an A in the class. It's not impossible, but it was a good amount of work.

Prof. Osman is a great person &has a gr8 personality. waited all week for his classes. although class is mandatory, you want to go bec he makes it so fun! I would take him again in a second! he offered around 30 points E.X. all in all, i have nothing bad to say about Dr. Osman

The material he covered in class did not help at all on the tests. He went off on weird tangents and didn't give study guides which makes it impossible to know what is on the tests. If you can avoid him as a teacher you should.

So I thought a human sexuality class would be fun...not the case. I never got a single test back all semester to see what I did wrong. Has an attendance that counts as a test grade, which is good if you enjoy watching a cocky grown man force his opinion about sex on you. I'd personally find another gened to take.

Personally, I hate him. He's extremely cooky and into his subject, but I'm not. 4 tests, black board, project, attendance, chapter quizzes. It's a ridiculous amount of stress and work for a gen ed class. I hate getting up for his class.

Dr. Osman: great professor, really knows what he's talking about & actually interesting to listen to. Does require attendance b/c at the end of the semester, it will count like a test grade (no absences=100/100). If you read & study all the things in his workbook & text, & pay attention in class, you should do well on his exams. highly recommend

He's very into his classes and as it says below my comment, Attendance is key. I found out if you go to every class then you don't have to take the final so I came to every class, worked my butt off in the other three exams and got B's and then did extra credit. He offers a lot of points towards extra credit! I liked him!

Comment:

Not really a blow-off class. No homework/projects but exams are challenging. Final is cumlative but is optional if you have perfect attendance and arent ever late. If you like to sleep late and skip class, do not enroll. Borderline fascist about attendance - takes away points per minute of lateness. Attendance has same weight as an exam.
