He only evaluated students' verbal answers to questions, judging whether or not the "mastered" and "overlearned" the material. The problem is it's possible to know the material without being a good speaker. I wish he focused less on students' deliveries and more on the content of their answers.

If you can at all avoid taking this class, please do! He is so rude to his students. You must read the entire book and write like 20 presentations for which you have no idea which one you will present. He calls for presentations randomly. If you don't give an answer he likes he will do everything in his power to humiliate you in class.

This man is so unfair in his grading it is unbelievable unless you personally witness it in his class. I've tried to improve over the entire semester and have gotten the same grades for my oral responses. He says I lack spontaneity and read from my notes. How else are you supposed to keep track of 50 different concepts in a chapter? Needs to go.

Jack is a great guy.Very funny and knowledgeable. Do your reading and come prepared and he will love and respect you. You learn tons from the text and it is all interesting stuff. He has no tests, papers, etc. He calls on people to answer questions from the chapters...so easy! If you can, take him for a section that meets once a week.

Dr. Porter does not have tests, quizzes, paperwork or homework of any sort. Except reading. You are to read the full chapter and digest it. I thought it was fair; a lot of people decided not to read and wondered why they got bad grades. He is one of the most boring men I've ever come across, but he'll throw a funny story in there once in awhile
