Dr. Foertsch is the first preofessor to actually make me cry and make me question my major... I had to rewrite every paper 3 times to pass her class. I took her for my intro class and she taught it like it was a grad level class. It was truly horrible. But I will say, she will help you if you put the work in. My advice is to stay away if possible.

Hands down the most knowledgeable and helpful Professor I have ever had. She actually teaches you how to write an essay and if you give her a draft she will give you line by line pointers on how to make it stronger. She made me a better essay writer. I only wish I had taken her earlier.

Dr. Foertsch is difficult but treats every class like a grad-level intellectual discussion. She respects her students and is enthusiastic about their views. That being said, she is a tough grader on papers and if it doesn't match her expectations then you will not do well. Talk to her about what you plan on writing and she will help.

Dr. Foertsch is an Amazing professor for many reasons. She offers the most helpful feed back than any other professor I've had. She is a tough grader on papers, but she is very fair. In our class she gave opportunities on multiple drafts. Participation is a must, which is the case for most literature classes. I really enjoyed the over all course.

Dr. Foertsch was an incredible resource to me this semester. Her class was hard and she is tough when it comes to grading BUT! She made herself available for help through email and in her office. This was of immeasurable value to me! I know I'm a better writer for taking her class! Take her, but be ready to work and take her up on her offer of help

She's old-school, but fair. She makes her requirements clear. She doesn't like to go to far out of the box. She likes literary analysis in its own time context not it's current relevance.

Her class is great, and really awful. My friend who is brilliant, said the BEST grade he ever received out of 3 classes was a C. I enjoyed her class, emailed with her about my paper back and forth for 3 weeks before it was due. 2 days before it was due, said she'd never actually liked my idea. I dropped and plan to avoid her until graduation.

Dr. Foertsch is one of the best teachers in the English department at UNT. She is deeply invested in students' scholarship and well-being. If you're willing to work hard, take her class.

I just got my first essay back from this professor with a D-/F on the page. I'm a Senior Lit Major with a 3.7 English GPA. I have never received such a biased grading in my life. I didn't agree with how she read the text at all, so she attacked me for it. STAY BACK! She doesn't care what you think at all! It's her way or the highway to failure.

Stay away from this professor. Yes, she knows her stuff and is very intelligent, but she grades at a graduate level and will not listen to your opinions or suggestions on how to better your paper. I spend all of my time working on her class and not my other classes. I have yet to make above a D in her class. STAY AWAY

I cannot believe how high Dr. Foertch's ratings are. This class was extrememly dull. She never seemed to actually LISTEN to what the students were saying in discussion. She grades harsh, and she is very condescending. I have never had such a terrible prof from the English department. I was very disappointed, and I will never take a class with her.

I liked the topic, but she is very biased, dogmatic, and intellectually shallow. I will say that the class wasn't boring, and she evaluated me fairly. She wants you to agree with her and lacks a sense of detachment I think one should expect in a professional academic. I don't remember my class #.

she sucks because she only focuses on ideas that she's interested in. Basically guiding the direction of the discussion her way and doesn't care for other ideas. She isn't specific on her questions for the test either so be careful! The only good thing about this class are the stories!
