Wolf is the bane of many students' existences not because physics is difficult and requires immense amounts of work as he claims, but because he waste's every single hour of both lecture and recitation talking about problems without solving them. He then forces you to go to lecture by making attendance mandatory, and degrades students.

Prof. Wolf is the only professor at CU that is hated by the faculty and students. He does not teach at all during lecture and just goes over weird problems. For many years CU has tried to break up the lecture into smaller sections, but this man always threatens to sue. He doesn't want the lecture to be broken up because he makes over $200K a year.

His innapropriate behavior may have been acceptable years ago, but the lewd remarks, innapropriate touching, and harassment will NOT fly for much longer. Avoid this man. He is a pig.

Marginally better than he was in PH112. He still doesn't teach very well, but he provides notes written by himself so you get less lost in his lectures. However, his tests are still hard and throw many people off, and he went on to roast the whole class for having such a low average overall. Wish he would teach better and not be so unpleasant.

A terrible, terrible man who preys on his students. For years nobody has had the will to speak out about his behavior in the fear of retribution, as he is ingratiated with school administration and knows how to navigate its politics. One day the stories will become public, and Cooper won't look good at all.... Avoid all contact with this evil man!

Alan Wolf controls the department and does not teach at all. Worst professor I've ever had! I learned all the material he was supposed to teach beforehand (including phasers and waves); he did not present any of it in a comprehensible manner. I should have placed out (the actual placement tests are subjective).

Probably the only universally hated professor by the student body. That says a lot. Disrespectful, cocky and demeaning. Oh, and if you're wondering why he has a "3.3" rating, it's because he's written half the reviews on here. His tone is so distinctive. Despicable.

Okay, Wolf isn't evil, but he is tough. He doesn't teach in the best way; he talks about particular examples and skips through concepts quickly, which confuses lots of people like me (so you gotta read the book a lot). His recitation section quizzes are pretty easy though tricky, but his tests are very hard. I wish he would teach concepts better.

Probably the worst professor I've ever had the displeasure of taking. His tests are terrible, and don't test physics knowledge at all. Despite knowing all the physics on his tests, I did poorly because he had questions about specific things he said in class, or questions that required you to use his method instead of any other. Just terrible.

He is so great at explaining things precisely. it almost seems he dumbs things down but then you realize you are learning some high level physics compared to other undergraduate colleges

I had him for both PH112 and PH213. In the case of both classes, I have found him to consistently act petulant and cantankerous. I got a B in both 112 & 213, and that was solely because the fact that most of the class failed many exams/quizzes. When half the class gets a zero on a quiz, you know there is a problem, and it IS NOT with the professor.

Absolutely terrible. Lets his ego get in the way of instruction. Employs specific examples for problems instead of teaching concepts that can be applied to many problems. Just horrible.

I love wolf! He's the most amazing ever! Really good one on one, has a great sense of humor that comes at unexpected times. fosters you to have a true interest and love for the subject. very understanding once you get to know him. may seem intimidating at first, but once you approach him he's actually a really nice guy.

Patent law class is amazing! He taught patent law as an adjunct professor at Cardoza Law School, his alma mater. He is also a patent lawyer himself. If you are even considering law school, you must take this class.

Wolf literally does everything he could possibly do to help you for a test. Go to his office hours. They actually help. And he actually makes eye contact, something you'll never get from lecture. True, I think it takes more than just hard work to do well on his tests. You have to have a certain mindset, but you can get by with just hard work.

I took his physics class the first semester I was at Cooper. I once went to him and asked about his office hours. He said I was welcomed, but don't ask anything he already covered in class, or he'll yell at me. Also, I once asked him about an upcoming project. He prefaced his email reply by questioning my progress in class.

People that say he gets bad reviews only bc people do bad in his class are probably one of his suckups. I got B's in both courses and still find him to be a truly unhappy, cold-hearted human being. CU once gave him the shaft and now he is set out to give Cooper students the shaft. If Uglesich should teach all 3 physics, CU would be a happier place.
