Comment:
Angelos is one of the most difficult professors I have taken at CMU. He is extremely smart and assumes the rest of the class can keep up. There are weekly quizzes, so do not skip class. Exams are challenging and too long to even finish. If you spend a lot of time studying outside of class you will be fine, but it is a challenging course.

Angelos is the worst prof I have ever had, without exaggeration. He does not teach, rather points at his slides (assuming previous knowledge in the class). He does not provide any curve, and when provided extra credit makes it seemingly impossible to receive it. Best of luck if you have to have him. He gives quizzes every week so attend class

If you are still working on a quiz or test when the time is up (happens often) he will just tell you to leave. Rude when asked questions, doesn't give a straight answer. Half the time I had no idea what he was talking about or why, had to have someone else teach me and then still didn't do very good. Awful professor.

Definitely recommend going to class, still needed to teach myself most of the material. Reading the textbook and doing some of the suggested hw problems helped a lot. Whatever he says will be on the test/quiz, study that and some more stuff. Not the worst, but could have been better. Grades solely on quizzes and test.

This guy is probably one of the worst math profs I've ever had here. All he does is read off of power points for the entire 2 hour class. If you ask questions he gives weird feedback and not the straight answer. Rarely shows examples other than the ones on the power point slides. If possible I would take a different prof.

This class was hard. He moves very quickly through lecture and goes off on different topics that confuse me even more. The only thing that saved me in this class was my previous math knowledge and that he posted the notes online after the class. I taught myself a lot of the content.

This is by far the worst professor I've ever had here. He doesn't explain things well, the entire class is based off of only a few exams and quizzes (which would be fine if he was a good teacher). If you can avoid taking this course, or at least not with him, I would.

nice man but literally the worst professor I have ever had. MTH 113 was supposed to be the easiest math class but no one ever knew what was going on ever. He doesn't teach the material and it's all so useless. take mth 105 instead, your GPA will thank you.

This class was so hard Quizzes every Thursday and can be tough there are a total of 12 quizzes drops two of them. I recommend taking it in the fall semester as Thanksgiving break saves you and you get a group take home quiz. 3 exam counting the final all are tough and that is all your grades are based of.

This is the worse professor I have ever had, he does not care about you or want to help. I am usually good at math but I had to constantly go to the Math center to be tutored just to get my B. We had a sub once and she taught it better. Had to come to class every Friday for the quizzes so don't try to skip.

One of my worst professors I've ever had. Knows a lot about the subject, but can't teach to save his life. Reads really fast from powerpoints, doesn't explain things in detail at all. Had to withdraw... Take with someone else.

Worst professor ever. He teaches way too fast and it was hard for me to keep up. He always speaks in absolutes and offers zero class participation whatsoever, just lecturing the entire time every single day. He does NOT curve anything. He doesn't grade anything other than testsquizzes, which are brutal. 010 Do not take.

Not a very good professor. Smart man, who brags about how smart he is and how dumb everyone else is. He uses so much lecture time on the history of discrete math then at the end of class once he has wasted all your time on useless facts he does one problem so fast that you have no time to learn how to do it. Don't take him!

He is a very smart man, but not the best teacher. All of his lectures were done off of powerpoint, and he didn't explain examples. He told us what we had to do to solve the problems, but never told us what the meaning was behind it so it was hard to understand the actual concepts. I had to teach myself most of the material from the book.

If you're thinking about taking this class with him, don't. He is a smart man but I wouldn't consider him a teacher. He doesn't teach. He is rude and unhelpful. He grades hard and tries to trick you on tests. He goes fast on lectures and makes you feel like an idiot if you ask a question like it was obvious. Opt for taking someone else.

Professor Angelos is a fast paced teacher. In the beginning of the course it's easy enough to take notes on every thing presented in the power point, but near the end of the semester it is easier to just follow the slide show and only take notes on the most important information. If you come to class regularly, it is not too hard to get an A.

Decent teacher; loves his TI-84. He teaches some nice tricks with it, but I think he was better at explaining the calculator than explaining the math. I wouldn't say worst teacher ever, but I've certainly had better.
