Comment:

Took his final and filled in the bubble sheet incorrectly but circled correctly on the actual final. I received a terrible final grade and my grade dropped 2 letters, when I explained my situation he laughed and said there was nothing he could do. Lecture very boring, he gets the job done but if you have a concern like mine, don't expect sympathy.

Dr. Buchanan's psych 110 class is definitely a little boring but he makes it so easy to do well... the exams are super straight forward from the packets he makes and the quizzes on each chapter are fine as long as you know the vocab... He gives lots of extra credit and you don't even need to show up because he records each lecture and posts it

Buchanan is so boring. Barely took notes, did all the extra credit assignments, and snuck out with an A-. He's an old dude who just lectures in a monotone voice and doesn't bother to get to know his students. Didn't really learn a lot in his class. Tests are straight from the study guides. Wouldn't take again because he's so dry

Dr. Buchanan is hilarious! A bit odd but if you give him a chance you will learn a lot! Lecture heavy! Read the chapters and do the study guides, will be beneficial for the tests! Tests are worded differently than notes. He provides extra credit and extra credit quizzes! Do them all! Also, a clicker is provided for attendance. $10 charge.

He is a very nice guy! Class gets very boring. Quizzes are easy, all you have to do is skim over the vocab in the textbook. Exams are not too bad, but he gives out review packets and holds review sessions.

I loved my time in Dr. Buchanan's class. He is straight forward with his powerpoints, and I suggest you supplement these with skimming the textbook. The class breakdown is 5 Question MC quiz once a week, 3 big tests, and lots of extra credit opportunities. As an added bonus, he's also hilarious. Would definitely recommend for 110

Dr. Buchanan is a very nice guy. His lectures get a little boring, but everything on the exams comes from the review packets he puts online. Exams are pretty straight forward, and if you do the review packets you're fine. The quizzes are 5 multiple choice that come from reading the book and they're very easy. A lot of extra credit is offered!

Dr. Buchanan's lectures are long and very confusing. He uses a clicker to take attendance so you can not skip too many times. There a quizzes at least once a week on textbook material but other than that I never touched the book. Tests are so easy just answer the review questions and show up to the review. There is also a ton of extra credit.

Comment:

Class is kind of fun sometimes, but you need to read the long, boring chapters of the textbook and know every term to do well on tests. Once you understand a concept, you understand it, but memorizing hundreds of terms you will probably forget if you're not a psych major is really a drag. However, just going to class helps your grade a lot.

Dr. Buchanan is a sweet guy. His exams are terribly easily- just multiple choice. Quizzes are given before each chapter to see that you read beforehand. His lecture is sometimes confusing because he just gets so excited! Pretty easy A... but you really really have to show up (unless you want to lose a letter grade!)

If you get this teacher try your best to switch! Very hard to understand, what he teachers in lectures dont match what is written in the text book. Test are worded weird and hard to depict an answer. A lot of your own reading and knowledge need to be put into the class. won't be able to pass if you dont read the text book or put time into class

Definitely recommended. Quiz on each chapter, just read at least the summaries beforehand and you'll be fine. 2 easy exams. I got Bs on both by just reading over the study guide. Lots of extra credit. Gives powerpoints every lecture.

Dr. Buchanan is passionate about psych, but realizes most of his students are not. He has an easy quiz for each chapter, 2 easy exams and a final that is just a 3rd exam. He offers plenty of extra credit and has problem sessions before exams. Exams come right from the study guide. Definitely recommend.

Easiest class I've taken during college. Course consists of quizzes, a few tests, attendance, and non-comprehensive final. Offers easy EC throughout the semester but you will not need it if you pay attention in class. He seems burnt out. Very easy but incredibly boring

This class wasn't that difficult. By the end of the semester, I learned that it's easier to read the section reviews at the end than try to skim the chapter for the quizzes. Tests are straight forward and fair; just 45 multiple choice questions. Final is just another test. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Bit of an oddball, but I recommend him.
