Calc 2 with him was alright. He's a really nice guy and is always availble for help. His tests are reasonable and will really help you out. If you do poorly on one he will help you get your grade up. My only real complaint is that he spends 30-45min going over problems from the previous day leaving only 30-15 minutes for actual classtime.

I figured since there were so many MA105 guys rating hughes as incredibly easy, it would be good to skew the results back to where he really is. In all honesty, Hughes is right in the middle as far as difficulty is concerned (overall). While he is the head of the math dept and therefore has a lot of work, he'll still go out of his way to help you

Easiest math class of my life. He doesn't take attendance, and allows homework to be turned in late for full points, so you don't always have to attend class. Class can be boring, as it is math.

The math level that was in this class did not require the explaination that he did. It was sometimes really hard to sit in his class for an hour. I would sugest taking a high level math from him.. not this fifth grade math that I had. He's a really nice guy, but I don't need to take a class from him again.

He was fine til he switched 2 his new teaching method. He used 2 be clear in lectures but now discussion ?s and pointless outlines take up whole class & we don't learn much. Wants us to learn but really ENJOYS watching us struggle! He can help u w/ a hw problem, only 2 get it back with a point off saying that you needed to include a tiny detail.

Tries to help you and wants you to learn, but can be extremely confusing. He really loves math and thinks things are "groovy". Very boring lectures except his quarky manners. Kind of a hard grader, but he tries to be fair.

Hughes is a horrible teacher. He is very unhelpful and just blows you off when you want help. He teaches based on complex theories and very few examples. In a lot of cases he didnt get to finish his lecture before the class ended and expects you to know what know what he didnt finish. Im a math major and i have no clue of what he is trying to teach
