Professor Kow is a tough grader, but I always found to be fair. His course was a year long course and there was an enormous amount of content to be covered. There is also a very good chance you will be very confused at times and when it eventually all comes together at the end of the course you'll either be prepared or completely screwed.

Mr. Kow is prob the worst professor I've had in my undergrad. He begins talking about a topic and completely loses track of thought and blabbles about random stuff. He is super smart but cannot stay on topic. An entire 2hr class will go by and you won't have any logical notes pertaining to the course content. AVOID HIM at all costs

This man is not for the faint of heart. He is difficult and at times hard to understand, but he is brilliant and if you take the time to work hard in his classes, you will come out a much stronger student. He is a great guy and very fun to have as a professor. Just stay on top of your work and you will do well. He is hilarious. Take him as a prof.

I found that he had favorite students within the class. He was terribly difficult to meet with, however he does promptly respond to emails. This professor does tend to stray from lecture and uses pretentious language at times. His class was not what I had expected, and not one a really enjoyed.

I thought i would like this course because i have taken philosophy before, but it is impossible to understand what his lectures are about. He constantly jumps back and forth between subjects and talks about random facts that have nothing to do with the course. He's used poor language and offending words. I highly, highly do not recommend.

I used to love Philosophy in high school and did very well in it. When I took this course with Kow, I was completely turned off by Philosophy. He is very unclear and I could not make sense of his lectures at all - almost as if what we read was unrelated to what he was teaching. Exams were hard. I withdrew from the course. Not recommended.

Amazing lecturer. This course should be mandatory for first year students. I took it in my 4th year and was amazed at how he could relate every major philosopher's theories to everyday life. He wants his students to succeed and realize that there is more to life than money and material possessions.

EVERYBODY NEEDS TO TAKE A CLASS WITH KOW. Yes, his lectures are tough; but his expectations for exams and essays are extremely reasonable. I believe that he is simply misunderstood by the posters that call him rude and demeaning. He is a good man and I have had the pleasure of taking more than 4 courses with him. GO KOW!

I can understand why some people don't like Prof. Kow, but I think he's a great prof. He really knows his stuff so classes can be really interesting if you're interested in the material. He does single out people who don't contribute to any class discussion, so make sure to follow along. A decent marker, but he doesn't give out really high grades.
